Well, I opened a motorcycle repair shop
It started fixing a bike for a friend and has quickly over takin my garage with a dozen or so bikes and atv's, from busa to vulcan. Word of my small shop spread like wild fire through the military bases here in my town.
Ill be moving into a 1000sq ft shop in a few weeks or so. My 14 is lost in a sea of bikes in my own garage!
Its nice making money again after the slow economy and TX common law divorce *u$ked me over.

Congradulations... I hope that you are able to learn and laugh as you start out, while making some money to top it off! Sorry to hear about your 'divorce' also. Hopefully things continue to improve as you continue your hobby/business.

I always wanted to open a shop. I also work on bikes on the side. I am just to chicken to quit my job and just do it. the biggest thing is giving up the BC/BS with the free drug card for me and the family. congrats. hope all goes well.

Thanks, I dont have much to loose so what the heck right? A local sportbike group took me in and has been extreamly helpful by giving me lots of buisness.
Im looking at tire changers now, I like the cycle line "big package" by no-mar, seems like a good set up and it has great reviews. It fits my budget, and its portable.

I've had a no-mar for a few years now and really like it. I would definately purchase it again!

Its in oak Harbor Washington (an Island).
I think ill go with a no-mar unit, I was looking at cycle hill (also a nor-mar brand) but it seems lighter duty.

I moved up here to attend comercial flight school, it was fun and flying is great and all but pilot jobs are few and far between and the pay is very low.

The no mar is over built for sure, we have changed truckloads of tires on this thing and havent even worn out a mount/dissmount bar tip yet. The bearings on the balancer could be better, most of the time the wheel bearings do the spinning and not the baIancer's, I plan on swapping them out this winter for some better turkish ones.

Most people see my bike and dont question my work, but im sure its just a matter of time before I come across some jerk that Im gonna wish Id never started work on his bike lol
Ive found that sticking to the more basic repairs is most profitable for me, tires, valve lash, fluids, suspension, electrical ect.. The few bigger jobs ive takin just dont pay enough for the time I put in them.
