Density altitude and ET/mph

Well it seems that a 450ft change in DA changes my bike's et exactly .10 and 2.5 mph. Now I know..

Wow that seems like a bunch, i went 8.97 a few weeks ago in 2700 ft, friday night the air was 345 ft! my guess would have been for me about an 8.85 or so. only I cant ride as I had surgery to re attach my bicep to my shoulder. according to your calculations i could have went a high 8.40 to low 8.50 and I'm going to say no way in hell I would have picked up anything close to that.

I was kinda trying to be sarcastic. Yep, it has to be something else involved on my end, maybe temperature. I used the dragtime da calculator against 4 track days and thats what I ended up with.

The car guys use those machines and it works well for them...Its easy to get a car to run its best ET...

Street bikes are a whole different animal, the better your clutch hand gets the faster you go...Not so easy to get a bike to run its best ET !!!

I only use it for checking the D/a when I don't have a weather station. Once you know your tune up and make a few passes, check the D/a then retune .... you bike will run a lil better, because you are tuned to track conditions. I know many have heard guys/gals saying my bike is only running x mph, because they are not tuned to the track, they are tuned to the conditions when they made their maps...

+1 on that. Like me for example, the pump gas map i am running right now was done and 110 degrees on the dyno with my air fuel coming in at 13.2. Probably not a good map for running at the track in 70 degree weather. Its probably lean and making less power.

*sitar music*
you're using 149 hp. being able to properly apply every hp that the bike can produce is the difference between the pros and joes, man.

All the e,t, calculators rely on your bike being rich.If the air improves it should go faster. If its a little lean it will drive them nuts
