If Kawasaki did put bigger buckets and a big head on the new ZX 14R like the new ZX 10.............would that basically mean they are putting bigger cams as well?

The way I see it the bigger stroke would give it a ton more low end power............some of which could be sacrificed for the increased top end of bigger ports and cams right?

Hell for Leather http://hellforleathermagazine.com/ Believes the Videos we are seeing are fake .. Below is there take on the videos ..

Hell For Leather wrote:

It’s hard to take anything coming from youtube user Kawasakimec seriously. With no profile details, only 99 subscribers and authentic Kawasaki youtube accounts like this and this, the validity of anything Kawasakimec uploads should immediately be called into question. That said, if the details revealed in this video are true, the new ZX-14 would have a displacement of 1440ccs, headlights that bear a striking resemblance to 2004 R1 items, and an intake that’s either just like the ZX-10R or just like an older ZX-6R. Yeah, this is probably fake.

Anyone think the 6.34 time is why Kawasaki had the video deleted............i realize it was in 100 degree temps at elevation and Ricky didnt have many runs to really get a feel for it.............but thats not really an 1/8 time to brag about even SWB right?

If your riding a 14 for a while it sure doesnt take long to get a feel for a new on, off the showroom floor...
6.34 @ 118 for a off the showroom bike is real good...

Didnt mean to insult Rickey..........he's an awesome rider and those were pretty crappy conditions he ran in.............but I seem to remember him running better times on the 08 ZX 14...........and I seem to remember people on this forum running 6.0's SWB so that 6.34 while its better than I could do just didnt strike me as that impressive for a high horsepower bike like we are expecting

I raced that track for three years and most of stretched Busas don't run mph like that out there. I have hundreds of time slips of my buddy's 2nd gen busa running 115mph or so with all the usual mods.

Not without a strap and being lowered .. Best numbers from the pros on the old zx14 were in the 9.60s ( stone stock ) no strap or being lowered ... 9 teens for the new zx14 is a lot to ask .. 9 teens with it lowered and a strap maybe, but it will have to make 180+ HP stock to the tire to pull that off ..

That track is slow .. DAs around 5000 + feet at times .. So 6.30s are not bad at all .. The Video Ricky posted showed him in a wheely all the way in first gear .. I'm sure with a strap and a track with lower DA numbers it would have been much faster ..

Don't know where you run at but thats bad mph for a gen 2 busa period. we run regular 120 to 121s all year long on gen 2 busa's on pump gas same as a 14

Lee,

In reference to the rwhp... I am sure it will be over 180 to the ground. After the ECU mod on my new zx10 it puts down 182 on pump gas on Acme's dyno. I am sure if they are releasing a new bike, it will be around 187 to 195.

If you look back on the history in '94, there was the zx9 that would run with the zx11, then in 98 they revamped the bike and produced a zx9 that would out run the zx11.

Then they replaced the zx11 with the zx12, that smashed the zx9.... plus to combat against the busa..... now that the rivalry was about equal, Kawi focus back on the liter bike and produced the 04 zx10.

The zx10 smashed the zx12, lighter, quicker with comprable horse power. This new zx10 was doing business againt the busa and the 12, until kawi released the new 14... the 14 killed the 1st gen busa.... during this timeline, kawi was managing both bikes, no major imrovement until 08, but it wasn't that great of an increase in power. So, Kawi redisgned the zx10, which blast the zx14.... normally Kawi would wait at least two years before seperating the clasess.

I am not sure if they are going to release a new bike, but I am sure this new zx14 is gonna be a bad Mofo..... while zuk is struggling to sell bikes, it seems that Kawi just call check mate

187 hp i'd be all over it like a hobo on a ham samwich ! If it makes over 190 HP you might have to put me on heavy Meds ... As you know a 06 to 11 zx14 makes around 162 stock , so a jump to 187 is a very big jump .. 25 hp is BIG !! Lets all hope it hits that mark .. One thing i have been thinking about is the added weight of the ABS and other goodies they added off the 2011 zx10 .. I hope all the extra HP doesn't get killed by the extra weight .. I hope it's like the c14 and we can get the bike without ABS .. I don't need ABS for drag racing ..

187 RWHP would be a 15% increase.............to be a success thats what I think should be the floor.

if its more than a 20 horsepower increase I'm getting one.........thats my bottom line!!!!

KHI should have paid for the old tooling by now. I can see them building a 1440 zx14r. It will only help the touring bike, which is the better selling. I can see the midlifers switching to a C14 from their HDs......,lol.

If you think about it... in order to get around the two liter bikes, it's going to require around the numbers I am talking about....... both of those 1k are around 182 +/-, plus they weigh 100 lbs less.

now with the additional tq of the bike will assist it in carring the weight down low, but if you gear those bikes you can possibly keep up with the larger bike....

so I think it needs to be around that with stock exhaust

If it follows suit with the others' new tech it should have a top tuned pipe so a slip on only is needed to uncork the exhaust. That and a factory detuned ecu to make it mild out of the box and easily programmed and a tunable traction control that is switchable. I think a alternate choice for those that don't race a sort of VFR1200ish option of the shaft drive ABS but with all the power type of blike as in no exta weight. Throw in the dual clutch or electric shift too is that too much to ask for?
