E85 question

I remember reading the e85 thread, instead of digging it back up I figure I would just come out and ask.

I have a map in my bike now with the super sport head, af is at 13.0-13.2 avg. Using my PC3 w USB hub, what do I need to add and where to run e85 at the track? I remember reading 35-40% more across the whole curve. Can I get clarification on this?

Thanks

35% over pump gas .... might be less with some of the race fuels that need a fat map.

we had to pull fuel with the degreed cams and super sport head so how would i be maxed adding 35%? I thought 06 had injectors to handle E85? Thanks though, will try it.

When using E85, the amount enrichment will be determined by your compression. I have used it before and tipically I went around 30 to 35%, but I run my bike at 12.8 to 1 a/f. My new 10 needed about 35% in some areas and as much as 40% in others to maintain my desired a/f.

the 440 cc injectors with a stock pump/pressure with E85 are maxed out around 200 hp ....

you will not be able to add nitrous without going to larger injectors or higher pressure.

hope that helps..

Thanks Roy, this bike is all motor. I was just making sure I had enough injector to handle an SS head on E85.

you can always bump up the fuel pressure of the stock pump.. a cheap fix to getting more fuel ..

I am trying E85 now. I set my Bazzaz map about 35% rich at idle (1400-1600 rpm) zero precent throttle
I set about 30% rich at launch rpm(6000-7000) 10 to 15% throttle
I set 35% to 25 % rich at WOT (7500 -11000 rpm) 100 % throttle
Use 35% rich at 100% throttle from 7500 - 9500 rpm( reason Highest TQ reached in this zone, engine is breathing more efficently therefore more fuel needed.
Use 25% rich at 100% throttle from 9750 - 11000( reason TQ is now starting to diminish due engine breathing less efficent less fuel is needed. You can carefully increase fuel pressure by removing stock fuel pressure regulator and very carefully crush regulator on spring side .060" this will increase fuel pressure approimately to 50 to 52 psi.
The 06 injector should be good for 210 to 220 hp providing fuel pressure increase.
