It is a stock Hayabusa frame that McIntosh raked 5 degrees and made the swingarm which is just 6" over. Stock bore and stroke 1299cc engine with heavy duty internals. Steve Knecum built the engine in NJ. Bill built the body from scratch and also did all the standalone electronics. The engine runs methanol with no cooling system since it only runs for 25 seconds to go 1.5 miles. Shift light was on as he reached the traps, 12,600 rpm LSL

OMG, a reporter screwed up the basic facts??? Wow.

You guys are kinda missing the point. Partial streamlining - rider is visible. 311mph in 1.5 miles.

Dean, that stuff is boring and of little consequence here. After all, the 14 vs. Busa banter is so fresh and exciting!!

I didn't post because it was a "busa" or local reporters called it "stock" (which it may have been by land speed specs?) , I thought the guy went pretty fast geez forgive me LoL

Almost twice as fast and just as ugly as a regular busa...that's impressive!!

Thankfully the reporter didn't let facts get in the way of a good story.

Shogun,
what's impressive is you dissing one of the most incredible feats in the history of motorcycling.

The interviewer made ONE mistake in the article & video.
Probably a record in these days of sloppy reporting.

The interview is short & to the point, VERY well done.

Steve gets it,

you are just fukked up.
