Slip ons for ZX-14?

Can someone recommend a decent set of slip on exhaust cans?
I have a 2008 ZX-14 and I want to keep the mods as simple as possible.
Less weight and somewhat increased HP is what I am after. Thank you.

Am I correct to assume that slip ons made for the ZX-14 will fit from all models from 06-11????????

also any input on these? i like the look and sound as long as it is not too loud. They sound great on the youtube video though.

No their not.06-07 fit each other.08 and up are different.I ordered my 2 bros for my 09 and they are different.Something about the mid-pipe sizes.Check 2-bros website and it will show 06-07 and 08-11.They started putting cats in the header in 08.When I took my header off I couldn't believe it,how small the holes are in the cat.I wouldn't waste my money on slipons.I did and I wish I didn't.Still got them sitting in my garage.

Slip-ons are a good choice if you want to lose weight, get improved looks and sound, a small hp increase, and save time and money on the installation. For apps with a focus on maximum performance, stick with a full system.

The biggest advantages to a slip on system is the sound and cost. The weight loss and power increase are negligible. The AVERAGE rider (not to include most the the above riders), will not be able to notice the difference. For noticable power increase and weight reduction you would need a full system, 4 into 1, IMHO.
The cost difference for a slip on versus full system is relatively small, unless you are getting a used system. Used cans are pretty easy to find because most riders who buy a used slip on soon want to upgrade to a full system.
If you can't afford $1000, you will prob be happy with the slip ons. I would shop in the classifieds on Bikeland, and other forums before I invest in slip ons.
But, you know what you want out of your bike better than we do. Just my .02.

Weight savings with the Area P slip-ons is 16 lbs, with a 5 hp increase. And of course they are going to sound nice. A full system is going to save you about 25-30 lbs of weight and give you around 12-15 hp increase.

Very quick and easy to change the slip-ons, and you will be fine without a power commander. And it is also easy to change back to stock when you sell or trade the bike.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

+1 Don't go with slipons unless you can get them really cheap. Full system is much better for handling (the stock header is really heavy).

Ya slipons should only take an hour or two to install but a full system will take just a day if you have never done it before. Well worth the few extra hours, IMO + often not too much more expensive than a set of slips.

I have been riding for over 20 years, but had never modified a bike (other than a slip on, and that was four bolts). My Brock's Alien Head took less than two hours. And I didn't have to take any plastics off (you might want to to give you some more clearance on the headers). Don't let that stop you.

I was concerned about clearances for my Brock header. But the bottom ferring has a heat cushion for the header and never a problem. With the header I took out the top 2 radiator bolts out and I believe the bottom middle bolt for the radiator arm,I put a rag between the radiator and fender so I didn't scratch the fender.Brocks instructions are very good.Started taking bolts out and make sure to use new exhaust port saskets.Easy and well worth it.One last thing.I melted my left side belly pan with my slipons not so with my pipe.

OOPS, should have said without removing the radiator. I did remove all the plastics. I didn't count the plastics and installing the PCV and Speedohealer in that two hours because I actually did that the night before.
So, not as impressive as I made it out to be. The exhaust did take lass than two hours, though.
Shane, I know you were thinking I was full of it, lol. I was typing faster than my brain was working.

I can and have done it that quick by taking off the lowest plastics only. A 1/4" ratchet, swivel, and 18in extention make quick work of it.

Sorry bro...you took some of the plastics off...that doesn't count. But you sound pretty handy at it.
