ebc rear pads good or bad comments
thanks for the great comments on previous posts, 07 zx14 brocks street setup streetbike
ebc brakes ? after my stock rear pads wore out at 7000 miles I installed a new set of ebc pads , seemed to work ok at first but I notice after cleaning the rear wheel or chain service the rear brake is not working very well at all, tryed cleaning with brake cleaner with limited improvement, stock rear pads seemed much better, any recomended type chain lube that won t fly off or maybe these pads just are not very good quality and the materials they are made of are the cause, what will the zx14 experts say ?

i use ebc's exclusively & have never had a problem front or rear. Try cleaning the disc with 400 grit sand paper after spraying it with brake cleaner & do the same to the pads. I use Dupont teflon spray (available at Lowe's) on the chain with very minimal build up & vitually no fling plus it's only $6 a can & lasts twice as long as any chain lube i've use in the past. If it doesn't improve after cleaning the pads are probably compromised & need to be replaced. Also try bleeding the brakes & see if that doesn't help.
