Switching to nitrous map using start button question..
Im looking to see if it is possible to be able to switch maps (regular map to a nitrous map) when I hit the starter button to engage nitrous? I have the PC3 USB.
If so how can I make this happen within the wiring? I do not have the multifunction hub.
I was thinking that I can hook a wire to the switchleg of the switch which arms the button for nitrous / starter, which would give me my 12v power to switch the map.
Now what wire could I tap into to tie into the PC3 for this???
This is all brain storming and I could be totally wrong but could someone help me out with this? Thanks

you need the hub so the pc3 will hold 2 maps anyway, it can be done easily with the hub.

hub or pcV setup. I will suggest a nitrous light or a seperate button so you dont spray by accident. It gets old when you forget the system is turned on and try to start the bike and all you hear is nitrous...

you also need a relay and the map switch, along with the hub.
Relay needs to be wired parallel to the nitorus solenoid
Wire it so relay pulls the contactor in, when the conactor is made, it will ground the map activate the switch. The map switch can be wired NO or NC, as long as you get the right map activated for the nitrous
I would use a tprs 002 , from schnitz.
Throttle Position RPM switch, so you cant acvtivate the nitrous below a selected RPM, or throttle position.
I would set it up for 75 %> + throttle, and 6500>+ rpm to avoid detonation.
Make sure the same rpm and tps columns in the nitrous map coincide with the TPRS positions, otherwise you will burn it up.
If you go more than 50 shot they say we should use HD valve springs, and I think thats near the limit for the stock 08+ injectors at stock fuel pressure.
The 06-07 injectors are 25% bigger if I remember correct.

Ok guys, I bought the multi function hub with the map switch. Can anyone give me an idea how I can wire this up so the map flips to a nitrous map when I hit the start button to engage nitrous? A schematic? I dont want to have to flip the switch to get the 2nd map.
Thanks

My preferance is to have the richer map activated in the normal position, so if the relay ever fails, you wil not burn any pistons when you activate the nitrous

on the relay 85 to 12 volt act
86 to ground
87 to map switch
30 to map switch
cut the switch off and it will expose 2 wires. map 2 is circuit closed if I remember correctly

This one is pretty good also. The nitrous will not spray if the map does not change

I have the map switch, I also have this relay http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=47
is this relay correct to use?
I really like the failsafe method given to me by 06redzx14.

relay on the right is your typical automotive relay. the one on the left can be a mini relay to keep things tidy.
