Handlebar Mounted Switch Quick Shift switch
I want to install the Dynojet Handlebar Mounted Switch for quick shifting, (im not digging the looks of the quick shifter that mounts to the shifter) but I have the PCV and the dynojet switch only works with the pc3 usb.. I know there is a way to make a switch for the PCV, has anyone figured this out yet? Im sure if I had a quick shifter in my hand I cound see what terminals are used to trigger the delay.

I just located in the PCV install instructions the inputs for a dynojet quick shifter, All I need to know now is how to wire the switch, momentary open or closed?
Thinking of using the horn button.

Anyone done this with the PC5 yet? I read on power commander's site that there is a quick shifter handle bar button availible for doing this with the pc3 but not the 5?

The DJ button will work with the PCV. .... It's just a button.
I imagine it comes with a plug for the PC3 hub. Just cut that off, tin the ends and push into the PCV holes. I forget which holes but they are in the PCV instructions (available on the DJ site if you don't have the written ones)
That said it is just a button switch and a very expensive one!
I used a cheap button switch from RS online and it worked fine.

(Reviving old thread)...
I'm trying to rig a handlebar switch for the dynojet quickshifter setup for my ZX14 with a dynojet PC5.
I want this to be able to preload the shifter at the drag strip, then just hit the thumb switch for the shifts... Eventually I'll probably go with an air shifter.
Anyway, to rig this with the dynojet PCV, would this work:
#1 buy the dynojet handlebar switch.
#2 buy a pcV quickshifter
#3 plug the pcv quickshifter into the pcv
#4 cut the wire to the quickshifter, and solder them to the thumb switch
Would this work?
Thanks in advance!

So what you are trying to do is interupt the ignition/fuel with your finger/ pushing the button then shift with your foot? seems like you could bump shift without the clutch faster than that. It takes a little practice but since I came from racing dirtbikes i don't see any of my times any faster with an airshifter. (as long as the run is good and you have your feet on the pegs)

Big T, I understand where you're coming from, and thanks for the suggestion!
I'm currently doing what you're saying... just preloading the shifter and then coming off the throttle as fast as possible, just to unload the tranny.
...but the quickshifter is setup to interrupt the ignition/fuel for only 50 milliseconds or so (very fast!), and the other benefit is that the throttle plate stays wide open.
The sequence would just be ... #1preload shifter... #2 hit button for instant shift while keeping that throttle WIDE open!
These zx14's flow so much air that I would assume keeping the throttle blade open during shifts (therefore NOT interrupting the flow of air) would be an added benefit, in addition to the 50 millisecond shift times.

I thought the button was more for arming qs while being depressed, why reload the shifter only to hit the button to kill, seems like someone is going to have sore toes, lol, just set the qs to b armed at a given rpm, that way the qs won't be active while cruising round town, set it for maybe 7500, any shifting under that n it won't kill, or if ur stuck on the whole preload thing just set the shifter @ ur shift point (10800 for example) n when u preload n hit that rpm it'll automatically kill n therefore shift, but play with it cause the actual shift point may need to b retarded a hair, I noticed if I set it to 10000 that it would actually run up to 10300 before shifting, but 12 tachs r off anyway

Right. Seems as long as you have Quick shifter enabled on your PCV, just preload your shifter and when you hit your pre set RPM, it will cut fuel, and you will shift. Seems to me no need for an extra button.
I use the PCV to cut fuel for my air shifter. I don't always have my air shifter and nitrous system turned on. If I leave the Quick shifter enabled, it will still interrupt fuel at the pre set RPM for the shift that isn't actually happening.

Mistake in my last post here. I forgot about my NC2 sending the signal to my PCV. I wish I could edit that post out of here now.
I used my horn button to activate my air shifter or used my NC2 GPIO for shift light to activate it. Either way, the PCV was getting a signal from another source to tell it when to interrupt fuel for the shift. I hope this makes sense now.
