Replacement for ZX 14
Do you think its time for Kawasaki to be designing the replacement for the ZX 14 . Its a great bike but nothing stands still for long in the motorcycle industry.
They could use existing tech to produce the Ultimate GT bike for us riders of larger stature. bikes like the zx 10 and the BMW SR 1000 are for midgets ( anyone under 250 lbs) and are designed to be lightweight so that those of lesser stature can manuver them around.
My wish list includes either the existing format inline 4, but maybe a 1500 or 1600 displacement, ( since the "gentlemen's agreement" to limit top speed to 186, caps that area of performance. They could go for a "massive torque beast" maybe 140 to 150 lbs ( making sure that they incorporate their proven traction control tech from the zx 10. One would hope that they resist the urge to mess up the bikes handling by incorporating a stupid fat tire on the back like the Ducati Diavel, let the bozo's who want to mess up their bike for " looks" do that to themselves.
Keep the same ergos, and general feel. Perhaps update the bodywork. They could even go with a narrow inline 6 ( al a BMW's 1600 GT) . You know BMW is going to find another chasis to stick that engine in, and a Hyperbike competitor to the ZX 14 and Hayabusa is a natural fit.( BMW spent a lot of dough to design that motor and they will try to use it wherever possible.)
Kawasaki could offer ( as a factory option either low boost supercharging or turbo) to bring the HP to say 225 to 240 but with an empasis on tractability and controlable power delivery.
Since this would be a machine for the little bit older performance enthusiast ( leave the ZX 10 for the kids) they could incorporate top drawer components like Ohlins suspension and Brembo brakes , and still come out with a hyperbike that " we" would be willing to pay the price for. Any comments?

4mm stroke increase and a removable jugs that has room to grow.
47 mm TB's and busa size buckets in the head.
The R&D has been done, you would think Kawasaki could at least follow the recipe.

Do you have any extra (Whatever your smoking)? (Joke) I can see a little motor HP bump & some updated bodywork.

The problem with adding all those updates would be a $20,000 MSRP bike.
It doesn't matter how fast it is, would I buy it? I doubt it. Kinda like the BMW 1000, for what it cost you can put a few aftermarket goodies on a 14 or Busa and have the same thing.
Another thing is supply and demand. Are they going to sell enough to make it worth kawasaki's time (if all those parts are added and jacks the price up)?

3 or 4 mil stroke, improve the flow on the head and bigger cams from the factory. Over 200 HP out of the box and 130+lb/ft of torque. I could care less for the traction control.
KHP could do all that and not increase prices much. I'd say they could develop it, and market it for under $14k

EXACTLY!!!..........screw the traction control and ABS!!!!!..............just give us at LEAST 20 more horsepower and torque priced less that $13,000-$14000.
a stroke increase with bigger heads, cams and TB's would do it.

If I want to spend more money I'll do it myself.3 grand in the suspension and 3 grand in the motor.Bikes worth about 7 grand.Thats about 13 grand. What a stock ZX-14 goes for.My modified bike would have about 200HP at the rear wheel and handle like a dream.Case closed.
