Tires

I'm throwing new tires on mine... looking for some suggestions. I'm a street rider, never track. I open it up on the highway, but am looking for something with a lot of grip because I like to get down into turns. I was looking at those Dunlops with the softer sides and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them. Cost isn't an issue here, I don't go cheap on the rubber.

I run Pilot Road 2's and can drag hard parts or get a knee down no problem. Sport touring rubber is very good compared to just a few years ago.

I ran bto-16s for 20k miles, great tire for the 14, excelent grip with good wear rate. I just switched to the new pilot pures, bike felt much lighter and fast turn in during the 10 miles I rode on them before I high sided it lol.

If price is not a prob there is none sticker that I have tried than the Perilli Super Corsa Diablo ratings from 0 to 5 .
The lower the # the softer less miles rubber you will have. A 02 or 03 is good enough and will still get close to 4 to 5K lot of money for them but woth it I can easly break loose the rear tire on the ones those guys mentioned powering out of a APEX.

Ditto!

I had 2 CT's prior, and loved them as well, I got over 10k miles on them (F&R both).

I got the Dunlop Q2s. They're pretty sticky. I got about 2000 miles on them and they still look practically brand new.

I can't even imagine getting the kind of mileage you guys claim. I get 3-4k out of a set of tires no matter what I've run, BT-014, 016 & 021's, PP, corsa 3, roadsmart(slippery junk), so far the michelin's handle the best & cost less than the others.

Yep that's about how long the rear will last 4 to 5 k on most all sport tires .pilot road 2 might get 9 to 10 on the front 7 k rear if you baby them.
