Friends bike finally expired
After 4 seasons of spraying a non-controlled 60 dry shot with NO alterations to stock air/fuel mapping, my friend's bike finally said enough! He called to tell me that the fireball produced actually blew his StreetMeg exhaust appart at all the joints (the only remaining connections were held together by the joint springs).
He has accepted it graciously (far more than me - I'm still depressed about not having a bike after putting a rod through the block last season!) and is debating rebuild options. At 64, I don't think I can convince him of a big turbo, but he hasn't said no outright to a big bore/stroke or larger shot of properly installed nitrous.
I'm planning on visiting next weekend - he should have the motor open by then. Potentially some interesting photos for the forum if total choas ensues inside!
