Orient Express Top Street Bike Report

On March 26, 2011 RacewayPark Englishtown, NJ presents The Orient Express Top Street Bike points series race opener…The #1 Qualifier was John Martin on his all motor ZX10 goin 8.41 @ 160 collecting the $50 payout & plaque! #2 Ashon Dickerson 8.81 @ 154. #3 DJ Lockwood 9.15 @ 151. #4 Paul Racanelli 9.22 @ 152. #5 Rick Mazzola 9.32 @ 153. The top 5 reaction times of the day were: Henry Charyk .004, DJ Lockwood .006, Jim Totaro .070, Tony Pasquale .071, John Martin .073

First Round Winners: DJ Lockwood, John Martin, Vinny Cianci, Jim Totaro, Joe Ricci, Paul Racanelli, Henry Charyk.

Second Round: Henry Charyk gets the bye run. Paul Racanelli gets the win against Joe Ricci’s breakout. Jim Totaro left too early but ran his 9.42 dial as DJ Lockwood took the victory run to the finish. Vinny Cianci gets the win over John Martin in their, what could go wrong did go wrong race.

Third Round: Henry Charyk lined up with Paul Racanelli, Henry left first but Paul motored past crossing the finish line first. Vinny Cianci gets to go first against DJ Lockwood but does so with a -.007 giving the win to DJ.

Final: DJ Lockwood on his Bolegs Racing Gixxer1000 stages with Paul Racanelli and his Busa. All eyes are on this 9.05 dial Heads Up race. They put all four stage bulbs on activating the tree as the yellows light up with Paul reacting first with a -.006 causing the red light to illuminate. DJ cuts the tree down with a .006 and takes the Win! Congrats to Paul Racanelli for finishing runner up collecting his cash payout & trophy also for being the points leader to start the season off. Paul thanks APE Race Engines & all the TSB guys. A Big Congrats to DJ Lockwood of Bolegs Racing for Winning the Orient Express Top Street Bike season opener collecting his cash money & Winners Trophy & becoming the first TopDog for the double payout Bounty race! DJ thanks, Team Bolegs Racing, BDog, Dre, Al Cooper, Charles & Carol, Herbie-whites racing, NJ Most Wanted DragRacing, mcy madness, the good man above, XPeed Helmets, VooDoo Industries, Spyder Grips, World Wide Bearings, all the TSB racers!

April 2, 2011 race #2… Ashon Dickerson takes the #1 Qualifier on his Real Street Gixxer1000 goin 8.28 collecting the $50 payout & plaque! Ashon thanks, Schampa, D-Tech Racing, Motul Oil, Schnitz Racing, World Wide Bearings, Carpenter Cylinder Heads, Performance & Perfection airboxes, JDS dyno services, Tees Photoshop, Bigavelli motorsports, Adickersonracing.com, Hotbodies, his wife & kids.

Final: Jim Obrochta of Pa. on his ZX14 sets up with Jim Totaro on his ZX12. Jim bumped the tree too hard turning the red light on giving the win to the other Jim. Congrats to Jim Totaro for taking the runner up spot & thanks Dan, Vinny Rick, Circle Cycle & the TSB racers. A Big Congrats goes to Jim Obrochta for Winning this weeks Orient Express Top Street Bike race collecting his cash money & Winners Trophy & becoming the 2nd. TopDog for the double payout Bounty race! Jim thanks his family & friends.


April 9, 2011 race #3… Ashon Dickerson takes the #1 Qualifier again on his Real Street Gixxer1000 goin 8.54 collecting the $50 payout & plaque! Ashon thanks, Schampa, D-Tech Racing, Motul Oil, Schnitz Racing, World Wide Bearings, Carpenter Cylinder Heads, Performance & Perfection airboxes, JDS dyno services, Tees Photoshop, Bigavelli motorsports, Adickersonracing.com, Hotbodies, his wife & kids. The top 5 reaction times of the day were: Rick Mazzola .000, Jim Totaro .013, Paul Racanelli .032, Ashon Dickerson .047, Bernie Thompson .053.

First Round Winners: Amos Foy, Joe Ricci, Bernie Thompson, Blair Dickerson, Jim Totaro, Paul Racanelli, Rick Mazzola.

Second Round: Benie Thompson gets the bye. The guys with the most Drag Racing experience line up together, Jim Totaro & Blair Dickerson. Jim cuts a .013 to Blair’s .056 with Jim taking the stripe. Paul Racanelli ran Joe Ricci down for the win. Rick Mazzola gets the win as Amos Foy spun.

Third Round: Jim Totaro goes red with a -.006 against Paul Racanelli. Bernie Thompson dialed 9.40 to Rick Mazzola’s 9.37. Bernie left and crossed the finish line first with Rick at Bernie’s rear wheel breaking out off the gas giving the win to Rick.

Final: Paul Racanelli on his Busa dialed 9.05 and is across from Rick Mazzola on his ZX12 dialing 9.37. Rick cuts a perfect .000 light which helped prevent Paul from taking the win with his big motor Busa. Congrats to Paul Racanelli for finishing runner up in his 2nd. TSB Final appearance collecting his cash payout & trophy also for still being the points leader. Paul thanks APE Race Engines & all the TSB guys. May 21, 2011 race #4…Jay Krawiec is this weeks #1 Qualifier on his big motor Busa running 8.71 @ 162 collecting his $50 payout and plaque! Jay thanks his father Ed, his brother Steady Eddie, Mike, Vance & Hines Racing, The RP staff, the TSB Sponsors & Racers! #2 was Paul Racanelli 9.01 @ 156, #3 John Martin 9.08 @ 148, #4 mark Bowes 9.15 @ 151, #5 Jim Totaro 9.21 @ 147. Top % reaction times of the day were: Jay Krawiec .006, Paul Racanelli .058, Jim Totaro .061, Bernie Thompson .062, John Martin .107.

First Round Winners: Jay Krawiec gets the #1 Qualifier bye run, Bernie Thompson, Henry Charyk, Jim Totaro, Paul Racanelli.

Second Round: Paul Racanelli gets the bye and ran his 9.05 dial. Bernie Thompson gets the win as Jim Totaro red lit. Jay Krawiec dialed 8.60 against Henry Charyk dialing 9.79. Henry left first but Jay cuts an .045 and takes the win even though Henry ran a 9.80.

Third Round: Bernie Thompson gets the bye and goes 9.42 on his 9.40 dial. Paul Racanelli red lit to Jay Krawiec.

Final: Jay Krawiec on his Steady Eddie built Busa dialed 8.68 & lined up with Bernie Thompson on the Bolegs Racing Gixxer1000 dialing 9.40. Bernie cuts an .062 with Jay hitting the tree with a .006 and flys by putting the win light on with a 8.69 @ 157, Bernie didn’t make it easy with his 9.42 @ 142 pass. Congrats to Bernie Thompson for the runner up finish collecting that cash payout & trophy! Bernie thanks, God, his kids, NJ Most Wanted Drag Racing, Skool, Dre, Big Joe, Ham, Team Bolegs Racing, Al Cooper, Xpeed Helmets, VooDoo Industries, Spyder Grips, World Wide Bearings and the TSB racers. The first place competitor in Orient Express Top Street Bike Saturday points as of August 27 will join Team Raceway Park at the NHRA Division 1 Summit ET Finals.

This year's Top Dog Bounty Race Days will be held on June 11 & October 16. These Saturday races will pay a double payout to any racer that beats a "Top Dog" and makes it to the money rounds. Top Dogs are any racers that have won a previous Top Street Bike Competition. These special purses are open to all Orient Express Top Street Bike riders. The rules are simple. If you beat a "Top Dog" in eliminations and make it to the money rounds, the semi finals or final, your payout will be doubled. The title of "Top Dog" does not carry over past the first person that beats a Top Dog. You have to beat a Top Dog to be in the money. The Top Dogs for the June 11th Bounty Race are: DJ Lockwood, Jim Obrochta, Rick Mazzola, Jay Krawiec.

The Orient Express Top Street Bike points series Saturday races of 2011 are held on Saturday mornings 9am: June 11- TopDog Double Payout Bounty Race, July 23, August 20, 27, October 22- TopDog Double Payout Bounty Race, October 29. its only $30 to compete and you can race even if your not signed up for points!
