I have only seen two BMWs run them bad ass numbers .. One was brocks bike with JT riding .. The other is owned by BMW and has Brocks parts with a Brocks canned map with Shine riding the bike .. Both bike were running mr12 .. I saw first hand Shine run at least 6 passes in the 8.50s ( good air ) .. Brock did not lay a finger on that bike but it does have all his goodies and race map .. That same bike only went 9.20s with a lesser skilled small rider at Orlando FL .. BMWs , zx10s and Vmaxs are very rare at any drag strip here and the chances of seeing fast one is very very slim ..

I definitely agree that a 14 is going to be much easier to ride at the dragstrip. But I think that with a little work the 10R will surprise a lot of 14's on the street. Just my theory...but I'm not spending $14k to test it.

I believe that also, If the 10 gets the reg. little goodies,PC-V, Brock pipe& Map,& Guhl Re-Flash, I think it will be what & what with the Beamer, same day same rider, APPLES to APPLES.

so what you saying is the lesser skilled rider {9.20] out rode shine [9.50] on same bike thats owned by BMW .. i can see why brock didn't have to lay a finger on a factory owned BMW ..was there a tech inspection after the runs to verify a stock engine .. i can answer that before you can HELL NO ..

If i was selling stuff my stuff would be the fastest shit on the market ..

Ok, here's what happened we were coming back from a rally on sunday morning ,3 zx14's ,new 10,new bm & 06 busa. The mods - 2 zx 14's has full muzzy,pc,filter & 1 zx14 head, cams, arata pipe & shifter .New 10 has full akro,pc,filter & shifter.Bm has slip on & filter,o6 busa has pipe. Riders weight were all within 10kg's,busa lightest rider.
I had 2 roll on's with the Bm on my 07 14 first run from 3 gr up to 280km/h and I ran next to him, next run he drilled me approx 4 bikes,I thought the Bm would cream me,It did loose to the other 2 14's and the new 10,given the Bm has the least mods it is bloody fast, guess who came last.

No problem 01smokes,it is just how we sometimes here in South Africa refer to BMW as BM's.

Look, I know everyone loves their 14's. But the 1000's are lighter and quicker in many street situations. It's not like it's a myth, lol.

On the other hand, they are harder to ride and less forgiving at the dragstrip.

As far as setting mile records goes, I learned a long time ago that "setting records" often doesn't mean much anymore. That process seems to be more about chasing the softest record, schmoozing with the right people at the track, and/or having the wind at your back...

At the end of the day the 10R is what it is. A quick and powerful bike that will be fast in the right hands.

Shane
Shane i have rolled on raced more that a few 1000s on the street at a 60 MPH start not one had beat me.. Best races were 07 gixxers with light weight skilled riders , They can get within 3 or 4 bikes of me .. I have not run a BMW or New zx10r so i don't know how they will stack up against my zx14 .. I will never find out either because i don't ride on the street anymore .. That is why i ask for proof .. We have all seen what the BMW modded can do at the drag strip and Maxton .. I want to see what the zx10r will do or has done ..We know it's a turd from the factory , what will it do piped and flashed ? Till we see that it's all lip service ..

Ummm Lee thought you did NOT street race?????? I might be mistaken but last year when TommyC and I street raced a GSXR1000 and we all got busted and was rewarded with my wallet being $345.00 lighter you posted "Take It To The Track" :-)
