Removing chain guard bracket?

There is a bracket on inside of swing arm that hilds on chain guard. Has anybody cut this bracket off? I have extensions, seems like chain might get into is, if there a little slack. My chain guard only attaches to outside mount bolts. Do chain guard have to attach to inside bracket?

I dont think it will hit, mine never has. I've never heard of anyone cutting it off. No need.

I had the inner bracket cut off of my extended arm. That inner bracket can hit the tire, depending on how your wheelbase is set. The Tiger Racing chain guard only uses the outer two screws.

The chain should not be an issue though.

I cut mine... after extending my bike the length put the outer rim of the rear tire in direct alignment of that bracket. I cut it 3 years ago with no issues

I cut mine off, not for clearance reasons, I just didn't like the way it looked. Plus it was unwanted weight.

Well hell... I guess I was left out of the loop on cutting that off.

Is this on the stock arm that people are having issues with when using extenders?

If not, what arm is this an issue with?
