Ping LAB3

LAB3,

Have you run 16/42 gearing on stock wheelbase? I see you are in the DFW area and I'm thinking of changing my gearing to 16/42. Did you have any wheelie problems with that gearing?

Thanks,

Red1

Yes, I ended up 16/43 on stock wheel base(stock chain). Yes it does wheelie Much quicker but I don't launch off the line much anymore. I roll on race with my friends on our secret place where we have about 2 miles to play with no inlets for traffic to pull into our lanes :-) 60 in 2nd gear and a slam it WOT it WILL lift the tire :-) go smooth on the hit(lean foward) and see ya if you are stock geared, and it will still GPS 175 in 6th(55 series rear tire). If you do intall a 16 front order the Kawasaki Zephyr 16 front it will fit no problems and it has the dampening material on both sides (quiet) no "Singing" noise from less expensive front aftermarket sprockets. I use Driven Steel rear sprockets for street use.

16/43 is great combo. I have it too and the bike wakes up very nicely with it. It's a fun monster to say the least.

For the track 16/43 would be a bit too much at swb. On the street I see it being a lot of fun.
