Here is what we know as fact ...
It has a bigger motor .. How big is a guess ..
It makes more power .. How much more we don't know.
The looks have changed .. How much we do not know .
From the very few pictures Ricky posted you can see the speedo and dash have changed .. Gone are the black panels over the ram air tubes.
It has been made clear that it has some if not all the goodies off the 2011 zx10..
With all that it begs me to ask why Kawi would built it without adding more power .. I'm betting 20 HP increase .. So we should see a stocker on the dyno making 180 + to the tire .Add in 10 HP for ram air = 190 HP..
.
If it pickes up 15 HP with a pipe and tune we are talking 205 HP or so to the tire on pump gas .. pour some MR12 and we have a bike that could make 215 hp with a stock motor .. This bike slammed and setting at 64 inches should have no problem running 8.50s on pump gas and 8.40s on MR12 with a good rider .. Lets hope Kawi hit that mark ..

Yup i can hear it now ..lol One has to wonder if they will fire back ? Or even if they can fire back .. We all know there sales have been slow , will they even run the risk of tooling up a new Busa with sales like they are ? It is possible that they have a new Busa allready in the wings and are just waiting to see what Kawi does ..

as long as the bore centers stay the same and we can use the heads , oval throttle bodies and bigger cams on the old bikes I think it is a great idea.

It would take 20 RWHP to get me to sell my paid for bike and buy a new one............10 RWHP would piss off a lot of people and be a weak redesign in my opinion.
Since the bikes are used primarily for drag racing and sport touring they could give it a 61 inch wheelbase to start so there is alot less need to buy swing arms to extend it.

I would think that this larger cc motor with a better head and bigger tb's will have 20 hp more minimum. If kawasaki designed a perfect header, like on the zx10, then add another 5 hp to the 20 the motor ups it. Then throw a slip on in the mix getting rid of the cat and thats another 7 to the tire. Those are the my predictions. 25 to the tire avg untouched, 32 to the tire with slip-on and mid pipe if needed to delete the cat.

I made 169 on my 1st zx12 stock motor with a pipe. I slapped in a muzzy 1270 bb and did nothing else and made 186 rwhp. Same dyno, worse conditions. That kit was a joke and it gave ne 15+.I would think KHI will do better then that.

Much of the power of the 1270 kit came from a significant bump in compression, and different rings. Maybe they will add compression, who knows?
I am glad they kept the unique headlights, probably has side grills too.

Gen 1 Busa was 155 hp, Gen 2 was 180. May not happen to the 14 but it did happen.
