I'm REALLY liking the styling of this 2012 model ZX-14, so much so that I've already got $1000 down on one as soon as they arrive here in Oz 
I was thinking about getting a new 2011 model 14 earlier in this year but thankfully I waited and it's paid off.
I now fear the next few months are going to go VERY slowly for me.

Why put money down on a bike so early in the game.... there will be plenty to go around...... oh... my bad.... gotta be the first on the block to pay that 16k.... I got it......

The question is, will we be happy with another 13 or so hp gain over the 2nd gen busa like we got over the first? Kawi isn't going to give us the farm, none of the manufacturers ever do since the first busa came out and got the world governments all worked up. They seem to have a set amount they like to give to keep big brother happy, and keep the hp wars controlled while giving us just enough to keep us buying. If they gave us the major power increase we want, what would get us to buy the next new model except another major increase? And how many of those would big brother allow before they cracked down? I suspect we'll get the same increase as the first gen 14 got, it'll be something, but not enough to satisy the hardcore guys. And I suspect the busa won't be far behind in matching or topping it. And the liters will still be nipping at our heels lol.
Build your current motor up or turbo/supercharge it properly, and you'll have more power than any production bikes ever going to have before the oil runs out, and you'll save thousands upon thousands over buying a new bike for a 13hp gain ;-)

The hardcore guys will build their engines reguardless.... even with this new bike, they will build this one as well.
This bike is for the folks that want the fastest production bike available.... When you look back on your past.... you can think about or even discuss with your friends how fast that production bike was.....

I've been away from the forums and this sight for a while, and this is what i come back too......are you kidding me??
Smokin..............are you saying that your dissapointed with your choice to buy a ZX14, cause if so............it definately aint my fault because as you wrote......you bought your 08 2 days before i made a statement about MY 08(which was faster than the 08 Busa of Brocks that Rich rode just weeks before at ATCO).
So your purchase was not influenced by my findings......right? So wtf???
How come you didnt mention my influence on everyone who bought the 06 when it came out since I was the first to have one, and the 1st to report how fast it would be?
Was my million dollar prototype any faster than anyone elses????
And what abut the 2011 ZX10, how did Brocks make 10 more hp than my One off factory bike.....( the same bike I picked up from Cross Roads Powersport's inventory)????
If your 08 ZX10 was a turd.......hey it happens, I have 6 ZX14's i use for my school and one only makes 170 when the rest make between 180 and 184 hp to the rear wheel.
Ask Justtoyz is he upset with his 08ZX10?
If anyone doesnt think 6.32 118 isnt fast at 3000 ft, you take any mootorcycle you think is the fastest and dont change anything from showroom condition and tell me how fast you go?

thanks for the information Ricky,just so some of you guys will know a 3000 foot adjustment to sea level the bike would go from 6.32 @118 TO 6.19 @120.45 MPH that also may not sound very impressive! in 06 I had a ZX12 that was stocked with a few bolt owns it run about 5.80s@118. I was the first one in Dallas to buy new 06 14 the next week we were at the track it run a best of 6.72@ 113 a lot of people were laughing and I was thinking what have I done! a few months later sitting at 65" with the same bolt owns it ran 5.71 @125mph with a 180 pound rider on pump gas. The 14 is already the fastest drag strip bike that you can buy the 4 mm crank probably won't hurt it any.

Yep, and the 2011 is my younger brothers bike BigFelt,it is bone stock green and blck i was there ,and before Art chimes in, yes his tri rocket with LILRichard as the pilot ran an impessive 9.34, i can remember the correct mph, missing a shift on the big end!!!!!!!!!!

Ricky first off i don't buy a 08 zx14 .. I had one of the first 06 ZX14 and after 4000+ plus passes i sold it and got a Green 09 ZX14 because i wanted a new bike not because of you.. Both zx14s were fast , both ran 8.70s stock motors .. Fact the 09 ran 8.76 on pump gas at 62 inches .. Stock wheel base the 09 on pump gas ran 5.89 in the 1/8 mile .. Just so you will know Ricky i had money down on my 2006 ZX14 before you tested at Vegas ..
Justoyz 2008 ZX10 is MY old ZX10 !! and it is not fast .. It wasn't fast when i owned it and it sure as hell is not fast now ( ask Justoyz ) ..I got the 08 zx10 after you hyped it , your numbers and Richards 8 second Videos got me to buy one and give it a shot .. I hate liter bikes and allways have but it gave it a shot anyway .. It made 162 HP Brocks pipe and tune, same numbers Brock got on one he tested .. It ran 9.18 @ 62 inches .. Stock wheel base it ran 9.65 .. Far cry from what my zx14 set up the same way runs .. Stock wheel base on my zx14 on pump gas ran 9.11 and at 62 inches ran 8.70s on pump gas .. You can say the 08 zx10 i had was a lemon but all stock motored ZX10s i have seen at the track didn't run well either .. Proof is hardly anyone races them, at least with a stock motor..
You also stated the 08 ZX14 made more HP that the 06 07 Zx14s .. Everybody shortly found out it doesn't .. We all know now the 08 zx10 was not all that and a bag of chips .. So Ricky when you say the new ZX14 is fast , Faster than the new 2011 ZX10 i have to call that into question .. These two reports you made on the 08 zx10 and 08 zx14 cause me to call your credibility into question.. I also stated i hoped i was wrong because i'm ready for a new, faster ZX14 .. I'm waiting on buying one till i see some numbers from other people before i spend my cash .. Ricky i also stated if i'm wrong i will say so and apologize ..

I noticed that the first time I saw it, what they didn't take into consideration is he's going the wrong way on a one-way street actually where he leaves the road and bounces into town is where the motorcycle cop got killed when he was an escort for Hillary Clinton when she was in Dallas.
