speed shake

Just got new tires on pirelli angels and I told the dealer to adjust my suspenion. So when going 100 plus mph the bars are shaking. wtf! Anybody have any ideas? I think maybe wheel balance or suspension adjustment?

Probably a balancing issue, I have 5k on my Angels and they are still going strong. Always been rock solid from day one. Look for weights or lack there of on your wheels and then get them rebalanced.

Suspension shouldnt make it shake - have them (or someone else) re-check the wheel balance !

Take a look and see if the tyre bead is seated evenly (especialy the front). There should be some sort of
moulding mark around the sidewall close to the wheel rim. Check that the distance between the two is the
same all the way round. If it's not, take it back and "have words".

Mine does it too but only well over 100mph and on the gas - but it's a "slow" shake if that makes sense.......the bars just float back and forth slightly, then when I chop the gas and the front makes full contact again, no shake or feel of one to speak of. So........I may be investing in a GPR or better yet........Ohlins damper

I had a head shake cause my last tire was wearing funny. But that was only on deceleration and only at about 50mph. Above or below that speed and there is nothing whatsoever.
My dad got run off the road a bit the other day and got into a huge pothole that put a massive dent on the front rim. The bike stays straight untill about 150mph then a nice tank slapper ensues!

a tire that is skimming along with next to no weight on it under power, will wander slightly , as it follows the tread patern.
reduce front fork preload to put more weight on the front tire.

All of the above and check the wheel alignment too.

Also, if you haven't used these Pirelli's on a 14 before and it's suddenly shaking it could just be that they don't suit the bike.

I had shake after getting new tires put on. The guy who balanced them put the weight on the outer lip of the rim instead of using the center lip and it vibrated at around 50 or so mph. To test it, I took off the weight he put on and got some stick weights I had and split the difference and put them on each side of the center lip. Took it for a spin and that cleared it up almost, so I took it to another bike shop and had them rebalance the tire and told them to put the weight on the center lip. No problems after that.

Sure sounds like they forgot to balance the wheel. And like black bullet said about the weights being centered is true, our wheels were designed with the spokes offset to allow weights to be postioned in the center of the wheel for accurate balancing.
When I balance wheels on my bike I first find the heavy spot of the rim with my balancer then mount the tire with the dot lined up with the heavy spot, they almost never need weight and when you do need some its very little. I cant stand to see when some shop hand sticks a half dozen weights on a wheel instead of breaking the bead again and turning the tire on the wheel.
