I wasn't even a race for him in a roll.
I would like to have a Busa or a 14 with 200/210 HP all engine :-) I just sold my 2007 14... sigh. Need a rotator cup operation (bone spurs) maybe next year when I am healed I will buy a 2010 Metallic Red 14 and build another 14 or a Busa :-) For now my old 86 FJ1200 will have to do to putt around the neighborhood on sigh. Has wee got another 14??

Come on man, both bikes have the same HP and weigh the same. The 14 has a much better clutch and the BUSA shits all over the 14? I have ridden both bone stock and like CraigChrist said its a riders race as both bikes ARE built the same. Maybe if you have an ignition coil unplugged and your 14 is running on 3 cylinders its as bad as you say but other than that both bikes are identical.

Like I've said in the past this is on my bikes others will get different results, the clutch is no better for me or worse it's just a different way to ride it I go I go 1.42-1.43 like clock work ether of them so the clutch is not a issue.

3000psi and falling is not racing at the drag strip. He is talking about street racing, as in the video. 'real drag race'? Count the money and see if its real, fall off the bike @ the top end and see how real that feels. The fun we had that day felt pretty real.
My point:
Hp is the third most important factor in racing, perceeded by rider skill and set-up. And no matter what someone's dyno# is the race is won by racing.
The video is an example of a race that most who think hp means the most would have said I would lose, but racing doesn't work like that. There are too many other factors to say 3000psi and falling can't beat his friend.

I think if you set your bike up to get the most out of it and rider the hell out of it you will win over the odds; I did.

I liked the vid, I was the underdog last week on that ride just like the guy in the vid you posted.
I started the post to see about doing some tweeking to my bike to make up the 3 bikes lenghts I need in the mid range to be able to match my friends big bore busa and start the one up game between us. I think we have that covered with going down one in the front, going with lighter tires, and a bit more tire pressure.

in roll on racing hp is king unless one rider is a complete fat ass and the other guy isn't. If both guys can hit shift points then it's pretty cut and dry. it's not like 3000psi is a pro jockey like ALI who is a LSR guru. He's a normal guy racing another normal guy. The only way that a stock 14 or busa is outrunning a bigbore 14 or busa is if the person on the big bike just absolutely can not ride. PERIOD.
I can see him winning the drag race as I've taken out many a built bike that was faster than mine. I can also believe him taking the hit and jumping out ahead... but as soon as the bigbore walks around him there is absolutely no chance of a stock bike growing magical horsepower and catching it. The only way around that is A.) spray him down, B.)spray him down, or C.) spray him down. Maybe ali, shane, entropy, or some of the other LSR guys can elaborate as to what it would take for a stock motor naturally aspirated motorcycle to come back from behind and win against a big bore/stroker motorcycle that is pulling harder and already out accelerating it.
That being said. Congrats on the W. it's always exciting to win a race that you're not supposed to.

If a Busa is stock geared and heaver rider on a bigger engine his momentum from 60 to 160 will be slower.with stock gearing............I disagree that a changing gearing won't make a difference.......I have been doing this on the open hiway here in Fort Worth for 40 years. If 3000psi will go 16/43 and the heaver(fatt ass) Busa(larger engine) rider is stock geared he will make up this on the hit and gear changes. With his lighter body weight and gearing he will do Much better against him.
Yes he will run out of top speed at about 170 but the other guys quits before then.
Try the 16/43 gearing on a street 14......BIG difference on roll on's with stock geared 14's and etc. Try it and roll on at 70 in 6th :-) or 60 in 2nd. You will see. Some of our 1/4 drag racers don't do this old man's roll on game. I invited Wheelie to come play with and he passed. Said it was for old men...:-) I like having a street 14 or Busa set up to ride in the mountains etc. Too each his own. I have owned both and do this all the time with my friends.
