Installed my New Vance & Hines 4 into 1
On my all original 33 year old 78 Kawasaki KZ1000. I found it new on Ebay. I just hated the stock exhaust. So I got the V & H header off of Ebay for $283 dollars. I wanted the KerKer but they were over $500 so I got the V&H. Was a breeze to install. It's got the street baffle so it's not too loud. runs and sounds perfect. This thing is a great bike to get out on and cruise. I also found a complete original seat that I got on Ebay. It will be in next week. I still have the spoke wheels that came on it but I like the Tubeless mag LTD wheels that were on it. This was a common upgrade for these bikes. Here are a couple of pics.

Yea that has to be the worst seat cover I have ever had. But I did find an original seat that had been taken off when it was new and stored. It will be here next week. Believe it or not the seat pan looks like new. They are made of metal and are really hard to find not rusted out. I will keep it for later use.

I had a 1978 Z1-R with that sharp little fairing, drilled out discs and a kick starter that bolted under the seat. And yep, I put a Kerker on her. Great bike. Good luck.

Very nice!
Brings back a lot of memories.
I had a 1977 KZ650C1 with a "Denco" header.
Back then, the sound that the exhaust made was very new and very uncommon.
I put nearly 80k miles on that bike in 2 1/2 years.
When I bought my 1980 GS1100E, I put a Vamce & Hines 4 into 1 exhaust on it as soon as I was able to afford it. Oh did it sound so cool!

I had a 1975 Z-1B 900.At that time it and the H-2 750 Kaws were the baddest bikes around.I put a set of Hooker Headers on it.It was my first real bike and I had i tooth down on the front and had green Kawasaki racing shocks and drag bars.I also had a 81,82,and 83
GS1100E bikes.The 82 had racing carbs and a Yosh pipe.They were fun bikes.And yes I
had a 83 GPz 1100.That bike had balls.

That was my first street bike. Bought a new 78' from a dealer in wichita. Got a kerker exhaust from a guy who wanted a stock setup, so I traded straight across and put some k&N filters on it.
RAn it at the wichita strip a couple times, also my first go round on a strip, best I ran was a 12.3 @ 112. I remember a guy on an H2 750 with a bar that was running well in the 9's. He said the biggest issue he had with it was the vibration, said it was so bad on the top that he had trouble keeping his hands on the bars!

I ran it today at the 1/8th mile dragstrip in Columbus Miss. Me and some buddys rode over to the strip. I was on the KZ. Best time was a 8.09 in the 1/8th. It has a hard rear tire and would spin really bad if you hit it to hard off the line. 135 mile round trip. Bike performed flawless. I too had a 78 Z1R. I had put it on Ebay and a bike shop in Japan snapped it up. I wish I had never sold it.
