quote: Let me say that the Dyno business is wide open and maybe it was that way because it was Good Friday and a lot of people were off. I was about 4th in line. First some advice. If you put a turbo on your bike. Have it tuned. There was two Gen 1 stock Busa's in front of me being tuned for dry kits. nothing special both were around 205-208HP on spray. Then he had a new 09 Busa with 480 miles, Brock Alien head and a BMC filter. It also had all short Velocity stacks in it. 194 RWHP with just an ECU reflash. not bad. plus he has a way of using the A,B,C switch to have two maps. a motor map and a spray map. using the factory ECU. A 06 ZX-14. brock sidewinder. shaved head, degreed cams. He said it was bone stock. MR12 fuel. 203 hp on motor. mine was so rich that he basically started from scratch. He reflashed my ECU for the 62lb./hr injectors. Set the Fuel pressure up from 30 to 42. built a tree off of the hub which is referenced by the GM map sensor. Even though I am not going to run this kind of boost he mapped up to 22 lbs. 442 rear wheel H.P. with no boost controller on C-16. Anyway I was there from 12:30 pm waiting on my turn and got on the dyno about 7:30 PM. he had to stop at 9PM because of noise restrictions. So I left the bike at the shop and told him to call me when it's ready. I want it to have 300 rear wheel H.P. with no stumbles or driveability problems on Av. gas. All he has to do now is clean up all the low speed throttle settings, change to a different wastegate spring and I can pick it up. The ECU flashing is the way to go. full ride report when I get it back Monday.
What program is he using to reflash ???

I don't know. He had a seperate laptop that he was using to flash the ECU. I was busy watching for leaks and the temp of the bike. I still have not got it back yet. Maybe tomorrow. I need it to get the chinese farings fitted and then take it out Saturday to the track.

This was the question and answer given.
When I questioned this (194hp Busa due to it's 8 injectors?) you all start a discussion saying it allows easier tuning above 250hp!!!
I was refering to the 177hp 14's vs the 194hp Busas!
Any thoughts?!
my understanding is that the second set provides a more consistant/uniform fuel charge as intake velocities increase eliminating lean spots in the combustion chamber at higher rpm. i forget where i read that and don't know if it's true but it seems plausible to me. manufacturers could give a rats ass how easy or hard it is to tune so they didn't add the extra injectors for that benefit

Are you sure about that? Ask any manufacturer that gets slammed by some magazine or racers because their bikes run too hot because of a lean condition, has a stumble somewhere in the RPM range, rough or erratic idle, or has bad throttle response. Just because they are the OEM doesn't mean that a lot of time and money didn't go into getting the bike to act civil and still make the power up top.
