Stock CCT Install

Got my valves adjusted. I reset the CCT but I can,t get it to snap out. I can see the forward snap ring and it is in front of the first groove. Can I just start it and let oil pressure set it?

Pushed and it popped. This was a PIA to adjust the valves.

I agree. Jim at Competition CNC will machine a ZX-12 spring design CCtTto fit a ZX-14. Look at his site he offers them with his big CC engine packages. Several shops do this mod. Or do a search here, one member drills and taps the stock 14 CCT and makes it a manual adjust. Or APE sellls one. The manual takes a "Touch" to adjust a chain correctly.

Me and Dcjens did the stock CCT mod and it's been sweet for about 17k miles. I checked it at the last valve check interval and it was still adjusted perfect.
