tank cover/tank
Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not the limited edition "matt fininsh" black/grey color on the tank cover/tank was the same as the color found on the chasis/side diffusers/battery cover etc.
I cant tell because the chasis is red on this edition.
I just need to kniow if it is the same or very simmilar.

If you are asking if the matte black color on the 08 SE is the same color as the frame color of most (or all) other 14s, the answer is NO. The frame is a warmish dark grey. the frame is noticeably different in color than a black or midnight sapphire blue 14. Coloright is the name of the co that sells paint for ZX-14s. if you go to their site, you can look up any year and view colors including frame color and clear coat.
here you see the dif between frame and MSblue. The pipe is a matte black ceramic prolly lighter in tone than the 08 SE matte black (which does have some sheen to it--even more after a wax, so I hear).

The brand new headpipes on the first pic are prolly close to the color of the 08 SE mate black. IMO, that is too dark to match the frame and crank case cover. Pics can be deceptive. Sometimes you see what you want to see and then in real life, your perception is different.
The tank bra may be a pretty good thing to look at for comparison. Still to dark to match the frame, IMHO.

Reason why i am asking is that someone has put a crack in my tank cover (long story) but ill have to replace it, as i don't want to have it repaired.
I found a very cheap new OEM tank cover, though its from the limited edition color scheme, and i was wondering whether it matched or was close to the color of a standard zx14 chassis color because if it is i think it would look quite good.
