200 at Mojave Mile
I hope you guys don't mind if I blow my own horn...
...but I finally went over 200 this last weekend at the Mojave mile, all motor!!
It was my third attempt at this venue and with the better conditions and finding the tune up I finally got it done with a run of 201.2 and backed it up with a 200 flat.
There was only two 14's in a sea of Busa's.
I'll have to wait to see the final results to see where I finished compared to the other bikes, but I'm just glad to have met another goal (the first being to earn a 200 shirt from Texas).
This 14 rocks!!!

Congrats! 200 on a real timed track is much harder than it seems on the internet. Any new goals? It is a disease you know. LSL

I'd love to do Loring.
There is a real good chance that I'm going to do it next year.
The DA calculated to around 4000 ft. I learned some more stuff that, had I known 2 weeks earlier, I might have improved my speed at Texas.
Of course the next goal is 210. If I ever have the opportunity to run in conditions like we had at Texas in '09 and '10, I think that would be doable.
Yep, it truly is a disease, an addiction or maybe merely a fever...
One of the things that I really like about LSR is that even the average layperson understands. Tell my sister, for example, that I ran a 9.56 at the drags or turned a minute 11 second lap at Firebird while roadracing at Firebird and there's that shrug of the shoulders, whatever.
Tell 'em that you went over 200 mph... on a motorcycle... and watch their expression.
Thanks for the Kudo's guys I really is nice to hear coming from my peers.

Stock displacement, 14.1:1 cr. Thin rod and main bearings, balancers removed. Stock clutch w/ a lock up. Carpenter's street cams and valve springs. Factory pro short velocity stacks feeding 46 mm TB's with 650cc injectors flowing E85 all on a self ported head. Exhaust system is home made. Innovate DL-32 data logging system. PC III usb with quick shifter (still foot shifting). LOTS of attention to detail to anything making it roll easier (No ceramics) and helping it breath. Amsoil 5w-30.
I must also give "Thanks" to a couple of folks who have helped me out.
Shoei for helping me out with a new RF1100. I can't say, for sure, that it helped with the top speed but it sure is more stable at speed and especially when I come up out of my tuck during shut down. Thanks Patrick.
Glenn at Zero Gravity for working with me on a trick wind screen. Altho' it didn't work out, he was of great help. I learned a lot. A class act.
Jim Cox for supplying me with Dunlop tires. They hook great, allowing me to drill it out of the hole.
As well as many friends who worked very hard, by my side. Thanks Sam and Johnny Terranova, Scot Welch, Tommy Dahl and others
The thing I love about this bike is that I still ride it on the street. Passes emissions and idles etc. with no grief.
