Looks very interesting. I considered that, myself.
I'm guessing the pins do not fit as tightly in the plates as a regular connecting link. ---otherwise you would need a chain tool to install it and then what's the point of not just riveting the pins? Furthemore, if the pins don't fit real tight in the plates, there goes half your assurance that that thing will stay together. On the bright side, I imagine that both nuts would have to come off before the conn link flew off.
IMO, that would seem like a good option for someone who changes the chain a lot but a bit more of a risk for extended use. I would def check the nuts for tightness often if you use that.
Curious to hear from someone who has used that type of connecting link. Safe enough?

Both are good chains. You won't go wrong with either.

+1 used it on my first ZX14 with almost 30K on the stock chain and sprockets before the bike was totaled....had plenty of life left in the chain.

I red all your guys' comments and talked to the tech and some buddies and the bottom line is I decided to keep everything as is.. I think this was just a small particle from the chain o-ring . I'll lube it up good every 300 miles and I'll keep an eye on it but the bottom line is it should do just fine till it's time to change it up. I'm @ 9,000mi right now and it shouldn't take that long anyway. After that I think I'll go with the DID chain and most likely some stock sprockets which seem to be pretty tough and I am not really looking for gearing changes.
