The wait is over

I know that everyone has been on the edge of their seat ever since Shane started the "Goals" thread and I stated that my goal was to run 8's this year.

Today at MIR, 8.891@152.24 on pump.

Earlier in the day I ran a 8.841@153.53 on MR9 on a slightly worse 60ft. I am not sure if the MR9 was fully responsible or if it was the better air in the morning.

Thanks Shane and 08green.

I weigh 168 in shorts. The bike weighed 505 last weekend a couple of passes before the low fuel started blinking. Combined it was between 690 and 695 total with me suited. I have a Shorai battery on backorder and I am going to get a Catalyst drag seat soon, so that will drop a little more weight. The motor is stock.

That is what I was thinking. He definitely would, we were both running high 5's at Barona footshifting in bad air, so he would be right there.

Yeah, stock motor, Brock's CT, PC III, 16-43, lowered and stretched on all things chromed extensions, and an air shifter. My 60's keep getting better so I know it has a little left in it, it is taking me a while to get use to the Brock's springs, I almost put the stock ones back in, but I think I am getting the hang of it now. My best 60 was a 1.409 yesterday but i screwed up the rest of the run. The 8.89 was on a 1.417 and the 8.84 was a 1.427.

Thanks Bently, I have all things chrome extensions and they are close to the end so probably 64ish. But it has been such a change from out in Cali with the air at the track that we raced out coming out here. I am still fighting wheelies a lot of the time. that 1.409 60 that I had awas a throw away because it was climbing pretty bad and we had a pretty strong cross wind yesterday so it was pushing me over a bit.

I meant 65ish, it is probably close to 65.5. I will measure it in a bit.

I just measured it and It is close to 66" That is why I know I have a little better 60' left. If I could get consistent in the high 1.3s I would be pretty happy. I just really want to get consistent this year so I can run the Summit Series and the Crazy 8's at MiRock.

As long as you are close to sea level I don't see it being a problem. Out in Cali, we all struggled to get in the 5's in the 1/8. Out here I went 5.60s a couple of times yesterday in good air.

Took all the foam padding off the plastics, couldn't get it all off, haven't really tried. Removed all the rubber around the engine and whatnot. Tiger tail, ZX10 fender, took off a few of the little brackets here and there, removed the subframe braces, rear passenger brackets, no mirrors when at the track and I think that is about it. Nothing major because I still ride it on the street. Out in Cali I rode it everyday to work. I have added back a few pounds for the air shifter and associated parts. I also have it wired and plumbed for nitrous with a progressive controller but I haven't mounted the bottle yet.

I still have a few things I want to do to lighten it up. I have a stock subframe I am playing with too lose a little more weight, I have already dropped quite a bit from it, but I don't have it done yet. But right now I still have the stock seat on, so when I finally spring for a catalyst drag seat that will be a few pounds, and I have a shorai battery on order as well, that should put me around 490ish. Eventually I would like to get some ZX10 wheels or at the very least a 12r rear wheel.
