Seat time man, with your mods and weight you should run 6.00s all day long. Work on your 60ft times. Just to give you a goal shoot for 1.450s and that should get you right there.

With you being a lightweight, there shouldn't be any problem. Looks like it's all in your 60ft,but you need to get that 60ft down to at least consistant 1.4's. Try putting a 16t front sprocket on. That will make it a lot easier to launch and only set you back about $35

You need to learn how to 60' the bike better. Being extended, you should be down in the 1.5s easy. I pull 1.5s on SWB so you should be pulling low 1.5s and you'll be where you want to be.

Also regear that thing....drop on tooth up front for now and see what that does for you. Make one change at a time to see what it does and learn what it takes to be quick. Seat time seat time seat time seat time

With seat time, you can do 6.0 60foots stock wheelbase, especially at 150lbs...

Yup seat time, run the shit out of that bike. at 150 lbs 5.90s should be easy at 6 inches over. at 6 inches over you should go 1.45 to 1.50 60 fts. which would get you right there. IMO untill you can 60 ft like that your throwing money away doing mods.

i've seen a lot of new guys at the track work backward for getting good launches. don't worry about raising rpms, focus on getting aggressive with the throttle. even an aggressive launch at 3500 will be smoother and quicker than revving to 7 , tossing the clutch way too fast, bogging the motor, and then finally rolling on.

i know its a 600, but the theory is the same, here is the WRONG way to do it:

sure, the first ten feet were fast, but then all the momentum was lost.
remember, smooth is fast

At your weight, wheelbase, and with a pipe...you will run 5.90's with ease as long you get your 60 foots to 1.50 or better. As has been mentioned, get that throttle open quickly...before the 60' mark...and the clutch out as close to the 60' (or sooner) as you can.. Let that motor do the work.

I had a good pointer from eklipse636 last season.
I took a WOT switch and hooked it up to a led strip i put under my dash. When i hit WOT it lights up. Pretty freakin bright too. The led strip is set to where it will illuminate everything under the gauges and bars so it wont blind me. I am not getting to WOT as quick as i think i am so this is just a little help to make sure i get there.

Just an idea if you want to know if your getting to WOT as fast as you think you are. I know i was surprised.

lol dusty sure did... and can just about guarantee that you would have problems getting into the 5's in our air out here... Fatty Mcfatterson. BTW, I ran 5's on my second time ever on a stretched bike. and only got to take it to the track 3 times with it stretched then had to deploy again. How long did it take you to get where you are?

P.s. Don't make me come to georgia and fight you because my new job is probably going to have me in jacksonville quite a bit next year.

Yeah im from Indy,

I run out at O'reilly Raceway Park on tuesdays when i can get off of work. I usually get to make at least 8-10 passes a night. the most i have made in one night was 27.
Track is not too bad, it is a NHRA sanctioned 1/4 mile track. if you run faster then 9.99 you have to be licenced.

I will be hitting up Muncie Dragway a few times this year hopefully. It is not sanctioned so the licence doesnt matter.

http://www.munciedragway.com/
http://www.lucasoilraceway.com/apcm/templates/racedivisions.asp?articleid=17809&zoneid=95

O'reilly has now been changed to "Lucas Oil Raceway" and the street legal days have been moved to Wednesday's. Looks like opening day is 3-30-11.

went to Jason Miller's StreetBike Seminar yesterday.....

Ran a 6.07, 6.05, 6.03......

The bike, 2008 14, lowered, Brock alien, NO Name-baseline map, Power1 tire with 38lbs., pump gas, 40tooth rear sprocket, oem air filter, catalyst seat, foot shifting, fly's in.....stock wheel base!!!

Not bad for a 175lb. without leathers, fat guy huh...lol, as compared to the 130-150lb. jockeys out there.....

For us heavier guys, remember you need to launch at a higher RPM to pull the extra weight.....

The Clutch Technique is called " The SNAP n SLIDE " .....Learn it, Live it, Love it.....
