2/19 New Personal Best
There was a motorcycle only event by me this weekend (Cyclepalooza) and I got in a bunch of test and tune runs between the other activities.
I had changed the rear sprocket about a month ago because I was hitting the limiter in 4th gear about 50-75 feet before the traps. I ended up going down to a 40t rear with a 16t front.
At another test & tune about 3 weeks ago I tried this combo and saw that I had lost a little down low, and picked up 1.5 mph in the traps(now 147.5 mph at this point).
So I went balls out this past Saturday. My first run was as crappy as the last time I went out to the track with a 9.87@146. I was pissed.
I got back up to the line and said to myself that I needed to try launching at a higher RPM. I launched the bike and all felt GREAT! The bike power wheelied through the middle of second gear and the run felt really strong. It was for me at least.
9.64 @ 151.36 on a 1.63 60' and a 6.31@118.56 in the 1/8.
The whole rest of the day I was in the 9.60's consistently.
I did manage 1 9.61 pass too.
I was stoked.

Wish I could have made the event. You should come up for bike bash in March to Orlando.

If I only had the time!!!!!
I have not done a eliminations event in like 20 years and back then it was in a car. I always fear the dreaded "choke" when I'm at the line. That's why I didn't do the street bike eliminations event. There are more than a few guys that are consistent to within .07 in their et's and they always seem to drill the tree.
I like the T&T events myself. No pressure.

Great times Adam!
Hopefully I can get my new silver bike to run the numbers you are running on my old bike.
A 9.61 on a 14 with a pipe & PC is great..........especially for a non jockey size rider that you are.
I see consistent 9.50's with a little more seat time.
Way to go!!

Don't be scared to run eliminations event! That's the only way to learn. You got to lose before you will win.
We have a lot of really good bracket racers here in ga/north Fl. They can hit their number within .01-.02 just about every time.
