Cleaning enclosed trailer
When my enclosed trailer was new I kept it clean enough for it not to get those black streaks down the side. It sat all winter now, and they are a pain to get off... Anyone got any suggestions?

Go to a camper or motor home supply and they will have "Black Streak" remover in 1 gal bottles and be sure to follow the instructions. Or you can go to your local auto supply and get some "Super Clean" degreaseer. Which ever one you use it is best for it to be 50F or above and do not work in the sun. You can put it in a spray bottle and coat a small area(2'X4') keeping the area wet with the degreaser until you can run your finger across the area and remove the black streak. At this point take a wet soft rag with mild detergent and wash the area clean then rinse the area with clean water repeatedly, then keep expanding the area. "DO NOT" allow the degreaser to dry on the surface. When your done it would be a good idea to wax the complete trailer with a good automotive wax and you should be good for the summer. "DO NOT" use on the stainless corners. The best thing I've tried on them is plain ole "Never Dull"(treated cotton in a can). I've tried "Mothers" "Hot Flash" "Rubbing Compond" and many more and the never dull out performed all of them on the stainless corners on my trailer. Good Luck! jes my .o2

Dusty do not use degreaser!!!!!! That stuff takes the paint right off. Use a buffer with Scratch off made by KIT. Your trailer will look brand new after that.

You are correct, if you leave in on too long. I've used it on mine several times and it still has paint on it and it still shines but you do have to be careful. NEVER do it in the sun and it's best if it's not extremely hot. Just like the "Degreaser" if you use the "Black Streak Remover" from the camper supply and don't follow the instructions it too will take the paint off. I will say that I have used every kind of cleaner, wax, polish, gas, and diesel that I could get my hands on and none of it done much. Rubbing compond will work but it's very time consuming and it too is taking paint off when you use it. What ever you use to get the streaks off it is important to wax it when your done.

Agree 100% but I guess it depends on the age of the trailer. On my brand new trailer I would not hesitate to use purple power or any other similar products. On my old trailer (Us Cargo) as soon as the purple power hit it the paint turned to a chalk and literally wiped off down to the bare aluminum. Either way black streaks on trailers suckkkkk!!!

I really don't mean to be a smart ass but my response would be replace it! LOL There's a ton of products that will make it shine except for the little raised things that makes it diamond plate. They seem to never come back bright and always destroy whatever you are using to polish it with. If you come up with a good solution PLEASE pass it along.

Purple power Castro super clean are nasty degreasers they work great on motors and wheel tires. I worked at a body shop detailing shop for 10 years you can stain the paint on fenders of cars with that stuff if its not diluted.

Greased lightning 1/2 water 1/2 did the job! Didn't have any white residue on the sponge (fairly new trailer)
