so your gonna be comparing a 64" bike to a 68" bike hows that gonna work out

Well if the 64" bike pulls a worse 60ft than the 68" bike and runs a better time that would be the faster bike imo?

I predict. .2 difference in 60' alone. From the 14 to the BMW and I see the BMW having 5 MPH over the 14 at the 1/4.

Yep, because the shittier your 60ft the longer you are on the track and the higher MPH you will run.

the busas don't do shit on the west coast either...

The out west busa sure are slow I only kicked the shit out of bawls about 100 time on mine.

Hell truth be told I'm the reason he quit drag racing.

Truth be told the fasted bike stock setup I mean as it comes from the store now lowering, no strap nothing is the Busa only because it lower and longer than the 14. The BMW is to light and wheelie prone as it sits from the factory. Now after moding well the busa is still the fastest cause there is allot of stuff out there for it . The 14 and BMW haven't caut up yet. Now in the middle of stock and all out mods. Its anybodys game. So If you wan't to play in the middle just get what you like and have fun.

LOL, I just heard about this post. Vince, I know that you're getting old but surely you haven't forgotten already. The hundreds of times that he outran me were when I was running 6.30's and 6.40's with nothing but lowering links and a strap. while he was running 6.20's stretched, air shifted, slammed, etc. once I was stretched, it wasn't a race. WAIT... I take that back, he beat me a couple of times on the day that I had to let out at the 330 because I didn't have an nhra license and didn't want to get kicked out.

Keep on trying vince, it takes more than that to get me pissed :P.

Finally got to the track friday nite but not a test and tune so decided just to run the 08 gsxr 1000 and my buddy ran the BMW. i got six passes on the gsxr best was a 9.29@ 148mph. After eliminations i took 2 passes on the BMW and the best was a 9.15@152. My buddy still has the time slips but were going over again this friday if the weather clears up around here. 60 fts were all in the 1.5s still a bit rusty over the winter should get back to the 1.4s and hopefully 1.3s. and just a side note my fastest ever on the 14 was a 9.20

That time doesn't look like spray at all. I am 255 lbs suited, and ran this on Racheal's bike a few days ago, with a low 1.5x 60 foot:

Her bike weighs about 485 with a full tank, has no BST's, and is just under 65". I ran a 9.15@150-152 on it last month, but the air was better...we had unfavorable winds for most of the day Friday. Her biggest mod is 47mm TB's.

I am also rusty, having taken a whole season off, and I think I can get 9.0's out of the bike even at 255 lbs. I am sure the BMW will get quicker as they get more seat time, but to me the bikes are not world beaters, at least not in the hands of average guys. It is nice to at least hear about one in private hands for a change.

Do you guys know what the bike weighs now, with the exhaust and wheels? It should be real light!

Shane

isn't your busa stretched way the fuck out there? I am by no means jumping on the bmw band wagon, but you can't compare the times of someone who races a lot on a stretched bike to those of someone who is new to the sport on a bike that isn't set up for it.

Ya its long but we all don't care about the et I posted that up Just to let you kids know what it ran and what I ran. The key part is the MPH he had 1mph on me so that leads me to bealeave the BMW is not a world beater its a damn nice bike but not for me. And the guy on the BMW is no rook he has been racing for a LONG time and can hold his own...

Im sure some of you are wondering what a BMW S1000rr will do in a average joes hands. We currently have been building this one along with alot of bumps during the way, Just installed a Macintosh +9 in swingarm couldnt go longer due to the rear antilock sensor wire not being long enough. It currently has a full Brocks Shortmeg system. BST wheels with ceramic bearings ordered. Gearing is factory 17 front and up 3 on the rear. Between my buddy and i we have an 07 ZX14 which am waiting on a +10 arm, 08 gsxr 1000 with a +10 arm, and a 07 zx10 with a +8 arm. They all are full Brocks shortmegs.I will post up results from the first test and tune end of March weather permitting ofcourse.

And your point being? i gave the times what we ran on it...seriously i could give 2 shits if someone has a faster bike i really dont care. Just thought i would share with everyone what we found out. If this is going to be a "Ohhh my bike is faster than yours thread" then im out its really not worth my time.

I beat a BMW with my brand new ZX6! Dude I ran was all road race leathered up and was in shock that my little 600 spanked him. He was way to busy fighting wheelies while I was focused on getting to the finish line.

Your right i did report it as a gsxr zx14 beater!! I have both bikes in my garage raced all three bikes...Raced my 14 for three years over 200 passes and best i ever got on it was a 9.20 wait second pass ever on the BMW i run a 9.15 with a 1.5 sec 60 ft? i pulled a 1.4 sec 60 ft on my 14 not to mention that was my 6th pass in the past 6 months after sitting inside all winter. ofcourse people are going to run better times at sea level, down south ect...and better riders im the same guy on all 3 bikes

01 smokes what did your stone stock busa run? (stock height wheelbase, air filter still in the bike, not geared as delivered)

Wasn't it like 135 mph? vs the stock BMW with a guy who weighs 25 lb's less running a best of 146 mph????

All though to be fair you guys never ran stock to stock on the same day. But its fair to say the BMW runs at least 5 mph better on average.

Of course your gonna say the BMW is not a world beater and that's fine. The BMW was built for the race track that just happens to have the beans to beat all of the current bikes in a straight line etc. etc. But you already know that ART.

Have a good day.............
