Possibly next years model? Never had one of any year, but considering power / other options it's equipped with this year -- I'd vote for the 2012 only because they'll ( hopefully ) remedy the bugs / problems of this years redesigned model and make it right

Hey Kerry welcome back, haven't seen you here in awhile, too busy building pipes lately?
I'm for the early ones, 04-5, more power & raucous feel. Besides it's cheaper to fix suspension than make power.

Thanx. Yep, always running WFO. Obviously that's a good thing!
Ok since it hasn't been mirrored yet to the same question on the ZX10 forum, here's what I stated:
quote:I had an original 1989 offering of the ZX10 (started in '88). It set a nasty standard but I would hesitate to call it a "sportbike". Probably more of a sport/touring. None-the-less, excellent bike, but it was a tank. Loved it and kept mine for many years.
The new release in '04 set another standard of nastiness and cool styling. Definetly a sportbike. Big power, lightweight, decent handling, and fast in the right hands. Brakes were a little weak. I really like the style of it as well (and black of course was the nastiest of them all). Still have mine and probably won't part with it.
The change for the 06-07 model was a step backwards. Tamer, heavier, styling left a lot to be desired, dual undertail mufflers (yuk....). It was somewhat of a subjective mistake...
The 08-10 model was much improved. Essentially a better version of the '04-05. More power, better handling, better brakes. Really a nice package. Styling was improved as well, but still not as nasty looking as the 04-05 model. Turn signals on the mirror stalks though.... Not too sure about that one. Almost added one to the personal collection.
The '11 model just really seems to have brought the entire ZX10 package together. Power and technology seem to work in harmony and your able to take advantage of all of it. Styling looks very nice. It appears to have caught up and evolved into the bike every Kawasaki guy expects for a 2011 purchase consideration. I would really like to add one to the personal stable.

K Bryant, thanks for the insight I was really looking at the 04-05 model as well as the 2010 model, something about having a 10r that can scream along with a 14 that says come catch me just says it all for me. I think I will try to find me one of those years and go from there. I recently found a 2003 ZX-12r and passed up on it even though it had very low miles and adult driven. Now I think I should've got it. LOL!!!

That is a plus to one of the reasons as to why I would want a 12, another is because I have always wanted one. Other then that it is not a necessity just a want. It's kind of like my C-10, I own a SS Chevy Silverado but went and bought the C-10 and worked on it for years to get it back to Show quality.

That may be so however I think if the ZX-14 kept the cylinder head from the ZX-12 and did a couple of other mods to it then we would see some better hp gains/torque, raise the limiter, and be able to work internally on our motors instead of having to find those select few that can the ZX-14 would be a far superior bike then the Hayabusa in every aspect. Like many have said why didn't they just make it a 1399 or 1440? You can still restrict it just make it tio where we can take off and hit the 60ft at 1.20 stock. So what's a few more CC's? I don't care for the selector switch that the Busa has cause either you can ride or you can't, don't need the slipper clutch I want to race, and lower it to about the same as the busa's ht you can keep the wt the same and give it a 2 longer wheel base and there you go!!!
