Dynatech shiftminder.

Coil wires at ECU
#1 white/red stripe
#2 white/blue stripe
#3 white/green stripe
#4 white/yellow stripe

Are these the wires I need to pick up a tach signal to trigger a shiftminder?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, #1 or #4 is the normal wire used for a tach signal.

Thanks for the reply AcadianaZX
I've been given a sm4 shift minder which everyone tells me won't trigger correctly
on the 14 but it's not going to stop me trying! I'm going to try combinations of 1,2 and 4 coil wires
(with resistors) and see what happens.
If nothing else, I can check i'm getting some kind of signal before BUYING! the sm2h that
Dynatech say is the correct unit.

The ZX14 has a wasted spark ignition system. This requires the DSM2-H. If you need one, I have one that is in perfect working order. I installed a Raptor launch/shift light on my ZX14 so I don't need the shiftminder any more. Let em know if you're interested.

I take it you swapped to the Raptor for the launch feature, not because of any problems with the Dynatech?
All the searches I've done show people having problems (usualy through buying/ being sold the wrong unit), but since I was given the sm4 for free, I thought I'd give it a go!
Thanks for the offer, but I already have the shiftlight so if you get a firm offer, take it.
If I have no joy when I try it in the morning (I'm not really expecting to!), I'll get back to you.

Your're correct. The swap was just for the launch feature. It's here if you want it. This one will work with our ignition systems.

Is it a 100% complete unit...instructions and everything? Would you take $80 shipped to 14304 Niagara Falls NY?

I've tapped into the white/ red stripe at the ECU (lower left multiplug) but
I'm +13v with the ignition on. I need the -ve side of #1 coil for the tach signal.
Any Ideas?
