SpeedoHealer or Bonneville Pro?

It's about time I get my speedo calibrated, this +12 mph over is driving me crazy.

Both products look like they'll do the job.
Speed-o-Healer is about 120 bucks, Bonneville about 160.
No too worried about the cost.

Anyone have any real world feedback on the Bonneville?
I know there are tons of feedback on the SpeedoHealer.
So i really need a digital display with top speed recall, for street riding?

No track for me, just street / canyons.

Thx,

-Bonzai

If i were going to purchase one again i would go with the bonneville pro.
I currently have the speedo healer. The SH is easily programmed but the bonneville pro has a better setup IMO.

Both look extremely easy to set up and maintain. The main point i would go with the BP is the dual outputs. (speedo correction and speed signal sent to ecu) I think it is worth not having the top speed recall that the SH has.

can someone explain what the difference is between speedo correction and signal sent to ECU in more detail please? I've been thinking I was going with the SH but if what I'm assuming he means here is correct maybe I won't.

thanks

allows the speedo to read correcly and not have to worry about the limiter up top if the ecu see's 186mph.

with the speedohealer it will just change the way the speedo reads, and if you want to do any LSR drag or big top speed runs on the highway you'll have to change your healer to read real low

I had one speedohealer box die on me, they warrentied it which was nice. what wasnt nice was when the bike would lose power and kick the power back on, and in a turn or on the track. no thanks!

tried out the new box and the wiring then proceeded to have issues with the connector at the speed sensor, didn't feel like dealing with it anymore i just ripped it out and bought the muzzy box. havent had a problem since.

starts to affect your mileage though. Otherwise I would continue as well. Was kinda screwy when I'd get to work and hop in the truck and keep thinking my speedo was off and suddenly realize... oops!

Go with the Bonneville if you don't mind cutting that one wire to the ECU. I went Speedohealer. Personally, I think it would bug me to look at a 50% speedo if I did a high speed run but I don't want to cut the blue wire..;;..

If the speedohealer can be hooked up to my busa with a busa harness, I'll probably be getting a Bonneville some day.

If the Bonneville bypasses the 186mph limit, wouldn't there still be the problem of the speedometer only going to 180? Or is there a different gauge you can put on it? I would like my speedometer to read correct, but I also want to be able to take it up to 200 (eventually)

The bonneville pro tricks the ecu into thinking that the bike is going slower than it actually is and that is how it gets past the limiter. So if you select the 170mph setting, the max your speedo would ever read is 170. So the speedo stops but you keep accelerating, or at least that is the way that I understood it.

But on the website it says this:

-Dual outputs - one is corrected speedometer and the other is corrected and capped speed signal to the ecu

Which leads me to believe what I said above but it also says:

-Speedometer will show true re-calibrated speed even with the speed de-limiter on

So who knows I guess I need to get the bike back together and find out.

My speedo says I'm going 75 mph when I cross the 1/4 mile line at 150.
Guess I ground one too many sides of the nut off

I read about that mod and am glad I spent the money on the SH. I am good at math, but I am sure at least once I would get a ticket had I gone that route

I sent an email to muzzys and got an answer for my question: the spedometer will continue to read right (at least until it is pegged) but the ECU is told that it is still under 186. So, unlike the SH, you can run past186 while still having an accurate reading.
Wish I would have known that before I bought my SH.
Now, I would like to just replace my speedometer gauge with one that reads 200+. Any suggestions on if you can find one like that?

If you're using the SH you already have one, ryn0. Just set it so it uses the kph scale, then you have a 300 mph gauge. The gauge is still dead on, the top speed limiter is overidden and you can measure up to 300.

Thanks for the tip

joemugg, I want to thank you for the idea. I used it and my km/h was exactly with my GPS mph. The only issues are that my mpg now reads really low (24mpg instead of 40) and my odometer/tripmeter is off. At least it doesn't read higher than normal, thereby devaluing my bike faster than it should.
I did find that when I switched it, I would then read my high speed recall on the km/h dial (i.e. if my high speed were 100mph, it would now read 62mph/100kph). So, when you switch back to mph your high speed recall will still be accurate.

Yeah, it's a really cool feature. You can determine your own mpg, just multiply the displayed figure by 1.609344. Same thing for the tripmeter.
