2011 ZX10R Free Power Fix for US Models Within!

There's hope for us yet! Our "source" from Bikeland's secret squirrel club has reported what may be the fix for the powerless US model - it appears as though the newest 10R may be suffering from a case of secondary flies like its ZX14 counterpart.

Initial testing is proving to be positive, but we need more of you to help confirm this. Direct observation has shown that at about 11,000 rpm the secondaries close altogether, giving you your lack of power. Flies out tests have been really good!

Though there is no power commander out for this bike (yet) a map and screwdriver should be all we need to realize the bike's full potential!

Awesome news from the secret squirrel club!

Huh?

My standpoint hasnt changed ... I still believe they fucked the US , and have always maintained I would wait until i heard from a real reliable source as to how to uncork this bike. Of course the shitty part is that you lose the benefit of the secondaries by removing them. The only way to retain them and gAin the power is with the race ecu (at this point) but I'd go with the 99cemt screwdriver over the $1000 ecu.

Well ... why spend $50 to do something that can be done for free? And that's IF a tre would work on this bike.

When a power commander is available tune it with flys out and it will get the power back where it would otherwise lag without proper mapping.

it's a lot more free than an ECU is... and a lot more practical than trying to get you to learn to ride your bike to it's potential.

P.S. tell your wife I said hello. It's been a while since she came on here and posted anything worth while under your name.

Oh ye of little faith and lots of anger! LOL.... Hey that's the usual fix and was already on my list of things to do! Hopefully it doesn't interfere with any KTRC or the KTRC isn't in need of the secondaries. If you buy the ECU it eliminates the $1500+ needed for the PC V's and full exhaust systems! I'm going to check with MCN's write up on the 2011 because they will tell it like it is and keep it moving on to the next project. Personally, I really think its going to hurt some feelings! Especially BMW S1000RR owners! More linear power isn't what I want from a street bike but cams will help with that extra kick in the ass though. Anyway, I don't plan to buy the 2011 model I'll wait til the 2nd year of production as usual.

I pulled the fly's on an 08 zx10, and could not tune out the low rpm surging. Brock noted the same issues.
With even more radical cam profiles, I would imagine the 2011 would be the same or worse due to weak low rpm vaccum signal, and less internal rotational inertia.
With all the additional gadgetry, like traction control etc, I would think an ECU is the proper answer

Proper answer - yes ... But many will be tapped for cash after the purchase and free is a good price for a fix

My guess is just pulling the flies wont work. If the flys are clsoing at 11,200 RPM.s then also the ECU is pulling back fuel and probably ignition timing as well to match reduction in air flow. Thus yanking out the flys without a PC5 and a Ignition Module will not work. And Dynojet dont make a Ignition module for the PC5 yet. This is why you need the Race ECU which has 2 options in the software. Normal fly function and *pinned wide open all the time. If you have that second option checked you will get a base map designed to work with the flys wide open. Thus you will need the race ECU. Now, how much will that cost? How many will kawi make? Will kawi even sell them to the average Joe like they have in the past? Reamins to be seen.

2 Sisters 2011 ZX10R US Spec Neutered Dyno Chart

This dyno chart came off 2 Sisters website. Notice how they conveniently left off the HP numbers and RPM data. What are they trying to hide? No problem lets see since they left enough data on there to figure it out.

Forget the BLUE line, that's 2 Sisters slip on. Look at the RED line, that's stock. Notice how it stops building power around 11,200-11,400 RPM, (like stated on Kawasaki Canada's Website) then just DIES as it rolls off. 2 Bros also decided to leave off that portion of the Dyno run where it rolls off past the neuter zone (as it is quite embarrassing) so I added that in. I also added in what it would look like if it wasn't neutered, (Euro spec). That's the yellow zone being stolen from you US buyers.

HP STOCK (neutered)

• 165 HP @ 11,400 RPM's

• 147 HP @ 13,500 (about redline / or in the "over rev" zone)

HP (un-neutered or Euro Spec)

• 171 HP approx @ 13,200 (+/-?)

How accurate are my figures? I would say pretty damn close.

Also keep in mine, pre production bikes of the like 2 Sisters get usually dyno a little higher than what the average Joe buys from the dealer, so you Joe, you know who you are, can expect a little less.

This is what its going to be folks, neutered or not. It will make less power than the BMW S1000RR. Comparative to S1000RR dyno runs on 2 Sisters site, by about 10 HP.
