New personal best, in the 8's
I made the long journey to MIR for the final T+T session of the year.
It was quite productive.
R/T.......115
60'........ 1.474
330'...... 3.774
1/8 ....... 5.704
1/8........ 124.52 mph
1000'... 7.381
1/4....... 8.820
1/4....... 161.05 mph
I have not changed my tune up since my last personal best.
I installed a set of BST's. The change was immediate. While it is not an apples to apples
comparison from Muncie to MIR I could feel the difference in acceleration especially
on the back half. My average back half mph was 33. Prior to that it was 29.
My set up was MR-12, 68" wb, 17/46, Ti-Winder, lowered and strapped.
Later...

Thanks Shane. Nice meeting both you and Rachael (sp?).
I forgot to add that I am 220 suited and the bike is about 490 in race trim with 1.5
gallons of fuel.

I'm hoping that he's not spraying on MR12 but that MPH is wayyyy high for someone weighing 220lbs.

Racheal ran 158 mph footshifting on 93 pump that day, first time out on her bike. The weight difference between the two overall setups is around 65-70 lbs.
He was running the MR12, and airshifted, and the same BST rims, but with a TiWinder instead of CT. DA for the day was around -700.

Nice run. Top-end MPH does seem a bit high to me, but I'm not going to say its BS.
As a comparison, here is my best run ever. At the time I was 205 lbs suited, bike was 500 lbs. I was running stock motor with MR9, air shifter, 16-44 gearing, Muzzy M14 sidewinder, 69" wheelbase, Galespeed wheels, no air filter. The temperature was in the mid-40's, and the density altitude was -1200 ft!!!!
My MPH reflects what someone my weight normally runs on a stock motor in good weather, thats the only reason I say his looks higher. However, with the BST's and MR12, it could happen, thats why I'm not calling BS. Does seem a little high though.

Does not really add up to me either but I don't know much. hard to believe that time with that weight and only a 1.47 60 ft.. and 36 mph back half wow. no matter what it's still an 8 sec slip and that's always impressive no matter what on a non wheelie bar bike unless it's a vmax then 8's are expected!

Guys,
I figured when I posted the naysayers would chime in. I did have other runs where I
ran 8.901 @ 159.99, 8.914 @ 159.40 and 8.855 @ 159.82. I guess my power adder
would be the custom tune done by Brock at his shop.
Carry on...

I certainly believe that someone weighing 220lbs could run an 8.80 but the MPH just seems high to me. I weigh 130 lbs and NEVER run 160+ on a very good running bike. I have also NEVER picked up 37 MPH on the back half. Very nice run and respectable ET however the MPH seems high even with the BSTs.

Racheal's slips, footshifting on pump. Other bikes out there were running in their normal mph, for great air, range.

Notice the 37-39 mph back halfs. We were running the same gear as Icarus. Probably puts the shift point right around the 1/8th timers...which can give strange mph numbers. Don't hate....congratulate

Yup...and all in the same lane. Only 10 bikes or less on the track, for this 8 hour weekday test and tune.

Congrats on the new personal best... I guess its possible with the custom tune from Brock, MR12, BST's, and with that MIR air.
I've always wanted to run at Maryland International Raceway in the fall.. I have been following guys on line that race at that track for over 8years and their numbers are always amazing...
If stock motor, 35+mph back halfs are the norm now.... My bike must be worn the hell out...

I'm in FL and never seen 130 unless i was spraying .. I think i hit 127 once with a tail wind at BMP ? , most times it's between 123 to 126 ...
Opps i was wrong ... I hit 129 with a tail wind one time .. But most runs were 126 and change ..

Well,
Once again indeed I believe the ET its just the MPH thats seems high. If that bike is making that much power it should be an 8.60 bike. Figure out how to get that thing out of the hole and you are set. Once again nice pass.
