Roy, any chance the axle adjuster bolt heads were not flush right up on the axle adjusters? Maybe there was a gap between the 2 and the "shock" between the 2 when one hit the other caused it to bend?

Maybe get a new torque wrench, and clean everything up??

no , I had made all the changes at the shop during the week, I also added an airshifter and the SB6 for the ignition kill. I had taken my time and made sure I was all set for the testing. This was the first time I had he adjustment bolt this far out.... it is just too small and a poor grade of material . I am pretty confident with the hardware I put in... I think most people would rather pay an extra $20 ( for the upgraded hardware) to not have this happen.

So, you would say that the Roaring Toyz hardware is pretty shitty then...and that is the cause?
I always run Spencer Cycle extensions, but I like the longer adjuster blocks on the Roaring Toyz (allows for a shorter bolt). I am having some oversize adjusters made for the Spencer Cycle parts.

the extensions are good, bolts could use an upgrade... maybe it just needs an upgrade if your motor has 130 ft/lbs of torque and your weight is 250 lbs and you adjust it to the max length?
obviously not everyone has problems....

Some extentions and aftermarket swingarms for that matter, just don't put high grade hardware with their parts. My adjusters are 7/16". I see many that are only very low grade 3/8" bolts and are extended way past mine. When you start running big power you will find weak spots.

these bolts were only 5/16 " stainless steel. The grade was A2 70 , so it was the lowest grade of stainless. A2 70 has the same yield strength as a grade 2 bolt....
I can understand wanting to use stainless for it's non-corrosive properties, but the small size ( 5/16 ) and low yield strength of the material look like a poor choice.

I did upgrade the adjustment bolt going to a 3/8" stud made out of some fancy alloy. That was as large as I could go due to the lack of clearance for the jam nut .
Now can we clean that wheel and get some matching masterlinks?

I can't believe that you're worried about swing arm extensions and running a clip master link...

whats wrong with a clip style master link? every outlaw bike i have seen uses them, so i dont think its a strength issue putting down 1.1 60s. alot of people talk bad about the clip style links but the only ones i have ever seen fail are ones not installed correctly. but to each is own i guess.

DRZ chains only come with the clip style masterlink. The plates do press fit together.

The problem with clip on master links is in the machining process. Everynow and then
one will not have both clip grooves "in line" they WILL come 'UnClipped" does not matter if clip is installed correctly. I for one do NOT want to be one of the 1% that has one fail.
Rivet master link and torque the the axle nut to factory spec............have fun.
Not "Every" Outlaw Bike uses a clip on master link...... To each his own.

I use the DRZ-2 chains, with clip style links. I spit a link once. After that I always put a dab of blue silicone on them for quick inspection...plus they really are a little harder to get off that way.
I was referring the the one clip link, and one safety-wired setup. The bike is worthy of matching links, imo.

Nothing..............smart move if you use clip master links. I know when you are at the track and need to change gearing the clip links are Much faster to connect and re-connect. Safety wire and colored sealant for inspection purposes is a good idaea. I had one come apart many years ago at the Track.....never again. End of chain thumped a hole in the crank case where the counter sprocket is. Rivet master links Only for me now.

being a cheap kinda guy , my first impulse was to reuse the clip . But it wasn't really a tight fit anymore. So safety wire is cheap and easy :-)

I ran RTV on my masterlink, kept the chain adjusted correctly, clean, and lubed. Sometimes they just have a mind of their own I guess...

Be glad the engine case does not have a hole in it. Paint it all flat black with a $2.00 rattle can and a new clip on link it will be OK it's a race bike. :-) j/k
I thought TNT taught you how to press a rivet master link?? Lessons learned the hard way
you don't forget. :-)
