So who's run 5's? I did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know THAT FEELING!!!
The first time you run a 9 in the 1/4, the first time you run an 8, the first 5 in the 1/8th, a new best, whatever that is!
That's where I was yesterday, and still am today!
I know that many of you did this long ago, so I'm not bragging, just letting anyone getting started to know if I can do it, there's hope for anyone.
Five weeks ago (yeah, I don't get out much), I ran a 6.007. Overstating the obvious, that's not a 5, but just close enough to hurt.
First run off the trailer was 6.16, then 6.04 Third run was 5.97 @ 121.53. Wooooooo Hoooooooo! DID IT! Was it a fluke? Next run 5.97. Allright! Both runs were with the front wheel in the air a foot or 2 all the way through first, so if I could get that under control, maybe better?
Next run, held the clutch just a smidgen longer. Got rid of the big wheely and resulted in a 5.92 @ 121.80. Uh, oh ........ My goal was to run a 5.999. Now I'm wondering - is a 5.8x possible? Are drag racers EVER satisfied? Nope - always want to go a little faster!
Next run was a 5.87 @121.67 and I am in shock! Especially with the not-so-great 60.
Now ............what do I have to do to run a 5.7x?

Lucky were about the same, except your 2" shorter on wheelbase. You can do it, just seat time, and more seat time, and more seat time.
Last year at this time I was dialing 9.20's in set, this year was 8.9's

I see that the winds were gusting to 26-28 mph for most of the afternoon...was that a headwind? If so, you will really fly next time.
Imagine if you had the -700 DA we had here on Friday!

Its hard to get bette rGoing once every 2 months. I've spent more $ on TNT this year than I ever have. Start putting the camera down and let wheelie video you.

It 'can' be, but I'm sticking with that gearing for now 'cause Wheelie says that's what I need!
Thanks, and you are FLYING on yours!

The wind was behind us, but didn't seem to have much affect. The track sits down low with large trees all around. I've been running 121 mph for awhile. Wheelie was still running his same times and mph.
Now if I could get that kind of wind at Dallas Raceway (1/4 mile) and a -700 DA, I'll be there!

No doubt the rider mod is the most important.
The down side is that we are coming into colder weather and holidays so the tracks won't be open much over the next 2 - 3 months.
