Racetech Leading, Ohlins in the rear
Nope, not what you thought. I finally bit the bullet and I am upgrading my suspension. Better late than never I always say. From what I hear I will be riding a new bike again and I can't wait. I put my order in today and expect to take it to the shop next week. Hopefully, I'll get in 1 if not 2 trackdays before the frost.
I got my bike brand new and kept it stock for a year. Then I pulled the flies, did the pipe/power commander/ignition module in the second year. Had the stock suspesion tuned which was wonderful in year 3 and now I'm going all the way in. It sure is nice to feel like you have a new bike each year and yet have the same bike. I love the ZX14 and it will finally be setup just for me.

You will be a very happy camper.
Get your sag right first.
Dial it in dampening slowly, one adjustment at a time. You will be surprised at what a bit of adjustment will do.
Unlike the stock clickers.........,
Good springs will be marvelous cornering.
I added about 1 1/2" of rear ride height and 'dropped' the forks down in the triple clamps 3/8".
Voila ! More cornering clearance + quicker turn in.
I went a touch too stiff with the spring rate for smooth cruising, but cornering is sooo better.
Two up is way better.
My 06 stock stuff was totally shagged from a couple of track days and 5000 miles.

Parts are in so I'm taking my baby to have my setup done. I'll let everyone know the results next week. My next track day is nov 11 @NJMP thunderbolt track. I should be adjusted to it by that time.

Who ever is your suspension guy, should be able to set your sag and dampening to a close starting point. Then you take it from there.

Details on what goodies you got would be helpfull to us looking to upgrade our suspensions. What weight are you? What spring rates have your vendors recomended to you? Thanks for the info.

Here are the details.
Race tech gold valves, springs, and fork seals. Rated for my weight which is now 265, hopefully going down to 225 by next year. I have the 1.15 springs and 10 weight oil. The ohlins rear is set for my weight and is part number Ka544. @ 18,000+miles it was time for a new chain and sprockets so I went down one in the front and standard rear. Got the new EK zzz 530 chain while I was at it + putting on the new 2ct's I ordered earlier in the year.
I will know next week how all this affects the bike I knew before but I can't wait to pick it up! Now all I gotta do is sell some AFLAC/Life/Health to pay for all of it.

Very cool! I've been waiting to hear some feedback from a 14 owner that did the racetech upgrades to the frontend. What did they charge for it?

I just put on a set of 2ct'son for our trip to the Dragon and think their the bomb. Keep us posted on how much improvement it makes on the way undersprung 14. Mike at Traxxion told me yester day that our bikes are really undersprung for even 150lb rider.

They last for a bit if you're light and crank the preloads down all the way

Just got my bike back today but really couldn't ride it much for a true test. Bike sits higher in rear feels more sporty and definitely turns in quicker. Almost scary at first. No more fighting to lean the bike and holds the line like you wouldn't believe. Bumps? What bumps? Suspension is doing what it's supposed to do.
Forecast is not good for the week. It may be spring before I really know how it really changed. One small thing I noticed is that I can now see through my rear mirrors and everything isn't all blurry. I guess my forks were really taking a licking before.
