08 silver zx14 paint code
Does anyone know the paint code for the 08 silver? Any recommendation on which paint to use?
I'm painting my catalyst seat, so I need the smallest amount. Anyone happen to have any left they would want to sell?

Hey Dusty, Check out colorite http://www.colorrite.com/matrix-start.cfm. They tell me this is the only place to find the paint for our bikes. I tried it in a spray can and had to use the clear also. It looked good for a couple months than the clear started turning yellow. I believe I sprayed the clear to thick. Good luck.

+1 on ColorRite
I will be ordering the candy lime paint for the zx10 fender conversion i am doing.
I have ordered once before and it worked out great and matched perfectly.
Just make sure you do a base coat correctly before your final spray.
I goofed once and sparyed a primer with no flex agent in it and the paint cracked.

It's going on fiberglass seat, so there shouldn't be much flexing. I'm thinking of painting the actual seat silver too. What's you guys opinion on that?

Unless the seat is solid plastic, I would assume that painting the seat would surely crack and flake unless you can find some drum-dyed leather, vinyl or similar to reskin it with..........

Believe it or not fiberglass flexes quite a bit. I think silver is a cheap color and easy to match so you may even want to find a paint shop the does custom matching. My green paint through ColorRite would have been $150 because it uses 3 different paints. I paid $300 to have mine custom matched which seems high but what if my the ColorRite stuff does not match or you screw up painting it. You are out that money again.

I think the drag seat will flex more than what you think.
Painting the entire seat in the atomic siler would look good IMO.
I would just go with a primer for plastic so it has the flex agent and the color rite paint.
You could have it painted professionally and i am sure it would turn out great, but i like doing things myself, Plus i am cheap...lol

I have a catalyst with the top painted red to match my bike and the seat is still black. I think it looks really good with the seat black, and that's what I think you should do. I would post up a picture, but my bike is taken apart so you wouldn't be able to see it with the fairings on. I might be able to dig up an old pic though..........

I know what it looks like with the seat black, just never seen one with the whole thing painted the same color.
