do you know how hot these zx14's run? are sure this would not block a little of air moving through the radiator? just wondering , because i would like to have one, so if anyone on here has one , chime in and let me know if it runs hotter with it on. thats the only thing keeping me from ordering one.

I'm getting one this winter for mine along with the 2nd fan kit and engine ice swap for standard coolant - may even install a zx10 front fender..........there's a few fella's here that are already running the cox rad guards and i'm sure these dont affect cooling much at all.........at least they haven't claimed anything noticeable with higher temps

I ran a cox on my zx14 for 2 years, no problems, perfect fit, clean piece worth every cent.
Its still on my bike and never coming off.
A small rock poked a hole in my rad at 90 MPH in mid corner, lucky it sprayed up on my leg insead of down on my tires...
I was suprised when I felt something warm and wet on my leg.... :P

I put mine on before I made the trip from texas to california in 2008. It's been on through summer heat, stop and go traffic, hundreds of passes down the drag strip, and my radiator still looks like new. It has more than paid for itself on my bike. Price a new radiator and tell me how big of a waste of money it is...

I've run Cox guards on all my bikes, never had a change in heat ... and I live in Southern Arizona ... 110+ degree riding.
Also, about the Cox Guards versus other stuff like screen door grills. I took a Cox guard off a older 600 I had sold, nailed it between two 2x4's and shot pebbles and stones at it with a sling shot. It got a bit dinged up but nothing ever went through.
Did the same thing with a Home Cheapo screen door grille. It's cheap and pliable, rocks cut through it no prob. One even busted through and broke a 4x6 8mm twinwall poly carbonate panel on my wife green house.
Keep the screen door stuff on screen doors. Use the real stuff for the bikes.
+1 Cox

A few ads is okay if it helps em pay the bills.
Can anyone with the rad guard tell me if you had to take the plastics off to install the guard? The side panels on zx6r are connected to the nose fairing so I basically have to take all the plastics off to get side panels off.

Pretty sure when I installed mine, I did it with the plastics on. But would be easier with the plastics off. The front fender for sure so you don't scratch it while installing.
