Dyno numbers of new 10 vs old 10 vs bmw 1000

I thought I'd give these numbers their own thread since this is what the hp guys are really interested in with the new 10 anyways lol.
Here's the first actual dyno numbers I've seen out for the 2011 zx10 compared to a 2010 zx10 and a bmw 1000-
2010 ZX10r - 157.2. hp
2011 ZX10r - 159.8. hp
BMW S1000R - 168.1 hp
These numbers were posted up online then quickly deleted when the shop that did them was supposedly contacted by kawasaki. But as you know, once somethings posted online its never really deleted. The shop was Redline Motorsports located in Canada..... Calgary if I remember right. The numbers were posted along with a video on the zx10r.net forums. As we suspected the new 10 isn't really any stronger than the old, and quite a ways away from being a beemer beater lol. Nothing that 2500 bucks worth of race ecu and pipe kit can't fix though eh? Should gain that 8.3hp back and then a big bunch more I would hope? Considering its supposed to be 22hp down in the US and canada
Sticking a pipe and pc on it in its restricted state like somebody mentioned wouldn't do squat imo, the guy on the bmw just sticks a pipe and pc on his bike and guess what?, you're still down 8.3 hp. If you've got the stronger bike pay the bucks, buy the race ecu with a good pipe and smash the competition

I still think Kawasaki dropped the ball by not going to the finger follower variable valve train.

Where are you getting your pricing and information on exhaust and ECU? Where did you find out that a race ECU is required? Or is this just a guess on your part?

The dyno information you posted above was posted here about a week ago, as was the link to the article.

Pretty much all of your posts lately are devoted to talking down about this bike. You and Fish are two peas in a pod.

My dealer was told at the show that it would take a race ecu and a slip-on to get the lost hp so I'm guessing he's right on that part. as far as 2500.00 that might be high. and If I remember right the race ecu for the older 10's was a little over 1000.00 and I'm sure a slip-on from kawasaki would be atleast 500.00. hopefully they priced thsi race ecu much lower it would not be bad if it was priced about like the power comander was.

I'm sure that if you are going to do it via Kawasaki parts, it might take a factory race ecu. I am also sure that someone will find a way around that.

Calgary is at ~4300 ft.
The dyno's around here are stingy, but its all relative right?

I was being slightly sarcastic with the 2500 bucks for the pipe and race ecu. I figured about a grand for the ecu, and probably another grand for kawasaki's version of a performance pipe, although I wouldn't be too suprised if kawi's package did get upwards of 2500 lol. But if you can truly get an HONEST 20+ hp gain it would still be money well spent...

I still say bring a BMW to the track and I will light it up Oh, I just can't wait until the BMW catches on like everyone thinks it will. LMAO!!!!!!!! Like I said before I remember a conversation that I just had recently and the BMW jock was bragging that the BMW will run 8.80's all motor. Once again laughing my ass off, I know, I know Schnitz went an 8.40 but guess what? Teasley did it on a Busa too. Sorry guys I am done
