I was truly considering (and maybe still am) one of these if the hp met or beat the BMW. Remember I don't like noise so I usually don't change the exhaust. But I sure as shit don't want to have to change the exhaust, ECU, and screw with the mapping just to equal or slightly better a stock bike that costs the same. That is just silly. And I sure as shit don't care about it being easier to ride, that would take all the fun out of it.
BUT if the thing meets the BMW power wise, I may still consider it. But I don't want a tame beast.
People complain about head shake on the 05 as you accelerate out of a corner, when that happens to me I turn around and see if I can get it to do it again. WTF fun is it if you all the things that require skill are taken away from you?

Well, Ted, if you knew more about engines you would probably agree with me. Believe me, anyone who knows engines can see the incredible performance potential that Kawasaki has engineered into this bike.
Anyway, I'll let you and Steve return to your love (or is it hate?) fest.

You have no specs other than some bare dimensions, the ports could be totally wrong, valve angles totally wrong, windage fucked, heavy valves, poor combustion chamber shape, you don't know shit about this engine. The only think known is it barely out powers the 10 from 7 years ago. Sounds pretty poorly engineered to me.

W hen are the news folks going to report on all the congested Kawi parking lots with people in line to put deposits on the exciting new 10Rs?
Or they should at least report the demand for "out of business" signs for the Gixxer, Aprilia and BMW dealers!

So let's break this down logically. Ken buys a BMW for 15k, Barbie buys a 10r for 15k. Ken has saved 1k for accessories and Barbie has just had her credit card limit raised 1k. So now they both race, and Ken hands Barbie her ass. So now Barbie uses that new credit limit to get a pipe (we will imagine they have made a pipe at this early stage) and for 1k and blowing the service manager she gets her new pipe installed. Ken buys a pipe and installs it himself. So saying just for the sake of conversation both pipes give a 10% hp increase at the crank. So now Barbie almost has as much power as the stock BMW and Ken has 10% more than the stock pipe. So they race again and again Ken hands Barbie her ass. Repeat story when Barbie gets a 2k credit card limit bump. Maybe by that time they will have another ECU developed for the 6 bikes they sold.
