Post a pic of where you think the tire will rub Patrick. I can't see it in my minds eye.

If i can figure out the diameter of a 43, 45 & 46T rear sprocket i can figure out how much the tire will move forward and hopefully get one that will work.

The 43 is roughly 9'' accross. If we can get Superman T in on this he can answer this question . He has the same extensions and is just about at the same wheelbase.

It will probably hit. You have to cut the bracket off if going much shorter. This creates a problem for the chain guard I know.. get an aluminum one from Tiger racing.. mounts solid at the other two points, works great!
FYI: it is .625 inches from pin center to pin center on your chain. You will shorten approx .3125 inches in wheelbase for every tooth you add to a sprocket and of course the reverse applies as you subtract. So you don't need to know the diameter of the sprockets.. necessarily that is.
43t = .625 inches shorter wheelbase (tire moves forward)
45t = 1.25 inches shorter wheelbase (tire moves forward)
46t = 1.5625 inches shorter wheelbase (tire moves forward)

I was at 16/44 gearing sitting at 64/65 inches I weigh 220lb with leather I was runnin 10.15,10.00. I moved my gearing to 16/41 and than went 9.98 I dont get much seat time but I try to make it count when I am there at the track.I am still going to try a few different combos of gearing for next year.
I have a plate put under my tail to keep it from rubbing through works great.

well currently i am looking to see if i can find a 15T front sprocket. I am also looking into a 45 or 46T rear sprocket. I am doing the rifleman insert this week when i get it in the mail. I may go make a few passes with just the insert and see where i am at and then change sprockets. I am currently waiting on my local track as well. Tomorrow is supposed to be the last day of the year. I was told that they will continue to run every tuesday depending on weather and temp. Hopefully it doesnt rain tomorrow and i will have a chance to go.
If i can find a 15T front sprocket I would like to run that with a 43 or 45T rear sprocket. The 43T is easier to find so i would like to run it.
Im just going over my pro's and con's check list currently.....

I don't think you want to go any smaller than the 16 tooth on the front with the power the 14 makes.

yea i have been going over my numbers and i am not sure as of yet. I did find a 15T front sprocket from Sprocket Specialities. It runs 24.95 and is a steel sprocket. I think it would kill alot of my streetability. I think i am just going to do the 43T rear sprocket and maybe break down and add 2 or 4 links to the chain to maintain my legnth with the extensions.
Ill let you know what unfolds.

I think a 15 tooth sprocket will kill your chain pretty quick as well. I have had no issues with my 16 tooth.

FINALLY IN THE 9'S!!!
I FINALLY DID IT!!!
i made a total of 25 passes tonight at my local track. I finally started listening to myself and doing things the right way. At my local track you have to have a NHRA license if you run 9.99 or faster. I got kicked off the track after my Back-up pass.
My first best was
R/T........ .376
60'.........1.627
330...... 4.259
1/8...... 6.395
MPH... 114.79
1000... 8.268
1/4...... 9.939
MPH... 135.04
I totally missed my 3-4 shift at the big end of the track on the above pass. Everything else was right on track until i screwed it up. But i will take it, no complaints...
My Back-Up run was...
R/T......... .449
60'.........1.648
330...... 4.314
1/8...... . 6.489
MPH.... 110.71
1000.... 8.373
1/4....... 9.974
MPH.... 139.33
I have not made any changes to the bike since my last track visit. I am still running the 16t Front and 41T rear sprocket. The Rifleman insert is on its way but not here yet...

TH1RT3EN-Same thing happened when I was at the same length and I had to remove the tab(Dremmel) in order for the tire not to rub. The chain guard is still held on by the 2 mounting screws on the front of the guard
