your right ninja12, it is a cycle logic kit . we changed to an external waste gate and an walbro external pump. its a stock motor with low boost. of course this winter hes planning to build the motor for some higher boost.

I think with that hair dryer hanging off the front of the motor, I could get used to seeing the bike with no real exhaust on it!!

Did you notice a significant loss of low end power ( figure 2-4K rpm) until it spools?

Just curious because I have only ridden 1 turbo bike and it (CBR1100XX w/ a Hahns kit) was soggy as hell below 5K.

I mean like compared to the same bike N/A, up to about 4500 rpm, the bike felt like it was making 1/2 power, then a wonderfull rush ensued.

i never really noticed much difference with my bike RPMs came REAL quick when i twisted the throttle and all hell would break loose and tire would spin and wheel would be in the air and it would pull like nothing i have ever felt before

I didnt get a chance to test ride this one,( still in my cast from the accident). but I used the same turbo that I had on mine and with the stock motor it would just spool up and go. the turbo is one of the cheap ebays, raplaces the subaru 18g. this is the third one I have done and seem to be having good luck with them.

A purpose-built turbo motor will be really mild off-boost due to low compression.

why didn't you just run the internal waste gate . and is there a reason for all the turbo cold air intake housing bolts being off even installed on the bike i can see no bolts .. . i can see its a cycle-logic set-up

external waste gates dont boost creep as bad as internals and its a lot easier to get the right spring for the boost you want versus an accuator. And if you are talking about the two bolt holes on the cold side of the turbo thats where the bracket for the internal waste gate used to bolt on.

Would you mind taking a picture of the compressor side? I'm thinking about putting on a 20g.

this guy has already picked his bike up but I will try to find a pic for you. I dont think a 20 g will fit without mods. I am getting ready to pull my turbo motor out of my wrecked one and we can see if one will fit then
