dealership called, CCT is just fine. 1 of my spark plugs broke in the middle and the threaded lower half had moved down and was barely touching the top of the piston. The shop is located 2 miles from my home and I went there as soon as I heard the noise.
Good thing, the incident did not scar or damaged the piston. This would also explain the lost in power earlier as the plug unit was separating under vibration.

How many miles were on those plugs?

Well, 26k on the Odom... but I changed the plugs about 5 k miles ago. One of them I tighten too much(sshh).Lesson learned(human error), I'm just happy that warranty covered the mistake(dealer believes a fluke fault of the plug) and the it did not harm the piston.
Like I mentioned before, I heard the knock twice and cruised with low rpms to the dealer( no knocking). I beleive any further high revs would have damaged the engine and they would have to open the engine case. My bike has never had the engine opened, just bolt on mods.
If I have/decide to open that motor block then I want to make the best of it with getting it ported, larger cams,etc...

Wow that's a new type of plug failure.
I've had numerous NGK plugs arrive dead new in the box and countless ones stop firing all by themselves.
I've had a few electrodes that fell off.
But never had threads come apart before.
Crazy!

I read about this NGK plug problem on the Busa boards a while back .. Seems a big batch of these plugs made it to market .. Just installing them by hand and lightly snugging them had them breaking off in the head ..

Wow and there's really no way of checking for those flawed plugs unless they grenade your motor. That blows!
