A couple of Cheap Home projects that I am working on.

First one is finished. After many years of major abuse as a yard rider and then a pit bike my 1996 Honda Z50 engine locked up. So I bought a chinese honda copy engine off of Ebay. It is a 107cc high comp. 4 speed motor. It came complete with electronic ignition and a 24mm Carb. and all the wiring to make it run. $205 dollars to my door. I had to make a pipe for it and got the free flow can off Ebay for $25 bucks. The motor came with a 2 teeth bigger front sprocket and will hit the rev limilter in 4th at 55 MPH. You can't keep the front wheel down in first or sec. loads of fun to ride around the pits on. The quality of the engine has been good so far.

Second I am finishing up putting an 08 GSXR1000 motor and electronics in my 03 frame. I rebuilt the motor with a 02 lower geared trans and a thin head gasket. It's going to be a streetbike. I have a nice Ti Force pipe and PC3 for it. The 03 had a blown up motor when I bought it. A buddy is painting it black for me and the finished project should be around $2000 not counting my labor. I like the looks of the 03 better but they did not have secondary injectors and all of the upgrades of the 07-08 bikes. Should be a nice 180+ something rear wheel H.P. streetbike.

third I have an 06 Hayabusa Motor and wiring harness that I plan to mate to a newer model R6 Yamaha. The local salvage yard has several 08's wrecked, We just can't agree on a price. It would make a great strip bike because of the weight.

did u have to make brackets for the front mounts on that gsxr frame. I found a company that makes them hybrid racing. But they dont have any brackets for the 08 engine. I just got a 05 600 and want to put a 08 1000 motor in it. There brackets go up to 06 engines.

On the wheels. The 04 750 shares the same wheels as the 04 600. 05 and 06 1000's have the same wheels also. but the 600 and 750 wheels were 5.5x17 where the 1000 wheels were the 6.0x17 wheels. The smaller bikes came with 180 tires and the 1000 had a 190. I am pretty sure the 07 and 08 are the same. I am just going off memory though. Suzuki stuff is pretty good about interchanging. The head on the 07-08 has a different pattern than the 05-06. It is a much better head than on the 05-06. The brackets are easy to make out of steel. use a piece of construction paper and make your template. then cut it out, paint it black and you are good to go. nothing fancy you can't see them with the farings on. You will want to convert it to a cable clutch so you will need the parts from an 05-06. The 08 gauges were smashed so for now I have the 03 gauges hooked up and the FI light stays on but it still works. I will find some off of Ebay.

If you manage that you'll have created the mother of all mods! A busa engine in a teeny tiny R6....you will need one hell of a steering damper!

It's not too bad as long as you have a complete wiring harness to go with it. I have put several Busa motors in the old 96-99 GSXR750 frames as they were real light. The newer R6 is super light and it will be for the strip. They have not come off the price of a salvage one yet so I am still on hold.
