You guys are actually letting your bikes drift on the street, damn. I would be scared to push it that far with unknown things that appear out of know where on the street. Guess that's why I still have chicken strips. Just tried the Michelin 2ct's this weekend and they are confidence inspiring. Pluss I adjusted the rear spring with as much preload as it allowedand it helped the undersprung rear some till I can get it revalved and sprung correctly. What weight fork oil would help the front forks out till I can revalve and spring them this winter? We are headedto the Dragon in two weeks and I am trying to get the bike set up as well as possible. Thanks

Not sure what's stock on the 14 as far as fork oil, but I was never told what weight he ended up putting in mine.........and all I know about the springs is that he installed Progressives.
I'll try and get ahold of him to see if he remembers ( this was last year )

He doesn't remember exactly which model he used for the Progressive springs ( he thinks it was a Vulcan? ) but said he used a spring index that compares length/rate/tensile strength for OEM to theirs and then used spacers to adjust ride height/spring rate..........Don't know enough about it all -- but I understand what he meant, fundamentally..........and he swapped out the fork oil from 5W ( factory ) to 10W Motul synthetic ( medium )

Thanks, I think I will change the fork oil this weekend. It won't be the cure, but its got to help it some. If its even close to the spring adjustment did it will be a lot better in the moutains.

So I have almost 3,000 miles on my 2008 ZX-14 (I know...I know...pathetic!).. and it's probably time for a rear tire and I have been debating on putting a front tire on at the same time.

Any recommendations on which brand/size/what to do?

I live in Florida, so most of my traveling is on the highway, but I like to be able to take the corners when necessary.

I got 6000 miles on a 2006, isnt that more pathetic? Im completely happy with my Bridgestone BT-003 RS, they work very good in the turns....only drawback is they wear fairly quickly so if you pile on alot of miles in a short time id opt for something like the BT016 instead.

Late to respond. Try 7.5 wt if you can find it, otherwise 10wt. I've never done it but read about it many times. Just a bandaid until you spend $$ on suspension. Check out Race Techs site. Has a spring calculator that helps.

Kind of hard to tell except my 'angle' to the line.

It's something ALL street riders should partake in..........you learn valuable lessons in handling/cornering/throttling...........whether self-taught or enrolling in the courses, trackdays are great fun and the people are the coolest -- sharing tips n tricks, it's a lot like the drag racing scene too.

+1 !!!!!!!!!
Definitely a experience worth the cost!
Also a great place to buy tires from tire reps (much cheaper than dealerships) and learn what works as far as PSI, suspension settings etc. from experts not parts guys and forums lol.
