crush washer
well changed the oil and noticed that i forgot to put the washer back on. I just put 60 dollars of mobil 1 full syn. do you think i need to change it again its not leaking oil but just wanted to check with you guys am i good or should i dump it and get the washer back on before i go out for a ride. oh yeah the oil change on this bike is a breeze.

yes install the washer , clean a drain pan really good and use the oil again, no biggie

I agree..........less to question with the sealing washer in place.
You don't want the possibility of the lug backing out and painting a slip-n-slide in front of your back tire, not to mention engine damage

Really? ya got to ask? lol.
I drilled my plug, put a hose clamp on the filter and safety wire them together.
Probably overkill. But beats having the mentioned slip and slide kill Me.

Don't warm the engine, use the clean pan idea and your finger or a temporary bolt to plug the drain hole until you get the washer on. Could probably get it all done before 1/2 quart gets out.

Actually, even without another bolt to plug the hole you can swap the washer in and just lose a few ounces at most...
