ok, this is almost laughable Over in the Concours 14 forum here...some of them seem to think a C14 will out handle a ZX-14.
Am I missing something here?
Here's the two posts I'm referring too...

Until you've ridden a C14, you really have no clue. I've owned 3 already - and 2 ZX14's as well as 2 Busa's. If you want sport touring - the C14 beats them all. I still have a very fast, modded ZX14 which I love, but it ain't the C14 for ST riding. The C does it as well as the ZX but has the ride comfort and out handles the ZX all the way around, period. It's not quite as fast, but still fast enough - where the limitations would only be the rider, and not the bike.
My response...
outhandles a ZX? Seriously? You must have the extra special edition if your C14 outhandles a ZX. Where'd you buy yours at?
Followed up by this:
out handles with good tires, I second the opinion. The tires and the added weight at speed gives you more traction.

even with hard bags and a passenger attached....it's still a LOT lighter in weight than a porky c14. AND got more power....
I'd love to have what these dudes are smoking....it's obviously some good shit.

Beats them all like this.
As pirouettes go, I think it's quite a graceful one
On a serious note: why do they have to test a tourer like it's a sports bike anyway? A bunch of idiots.
If we're honest, even the ZX-14 is not exactly nimble. I just bought a CBR1000RR for the bends, now that DOES handle.

Well I went to my dealer this week and took a concours out for 100 mile ride and it was a nice bike but thought it would handle better then it did. I liked the power wheelies it did! but after spending 100 miles on it I went and bought this and don't judge it by looks because it is one of the best bikes out there for lots of uses. This will be my thrid one I've owned and it is the only bike I wish I would have never sold. my buddy had one as well and went 2600 miles in 4 days in comfort. He's looking at one saturday again as well and we plan on going to colorado next year and finding dirt rodes to ride. it's a cheap bike to buy and own. 58 miels to a gallon easy and tires last 12,000 miles and in the curves a 14, busa or concours would be left for dead as most sportbikes unless the rider is really good. I will add a tail trunk and let the miles begin. oh I paid 4500.00 and it is mint and had 1700 miles on it with lots of extras. pipe, center stand, handguards, tall windsheild, gel seat, cruise, fender extender,. it won't win a contest in the looks dept. but when your riding it that don't matter to me. plus it's a 100,000 mile motor easy.

I've heard good things about those. Is that the 650 or the big one? If I was looking for a sport tourer I'd definitely give the fjr1300 a look. If you really want to do some cross country ride anywhere type stuff get a BMW.

It's the 650 and I had an fjr1300 and would choose this over that any day for sport touring. it's got enough power to be fun and is light enough to flick all over the place. my insurance on it is dirt cheap 176 a yr full coverage. if you where close to me I would let you ride it! I was working at the suzuki dealer when these first came out and when I was putting the first one together I laughed and thought how much fun could this be, well then we sold the first one and I was the one that preped it and test rode it and I was sold. like i said I should have never sold my first one then the second. this one is here to rack up miles. I decided to hang up my leathers for a couple yrs or who knows maybe for good as I just am not having fun anymore so this one's here for awhile. then I'm going to wait and see what the new zx 10 is about and maybe add one next yr just to play with.

Cold dcjens cold lol. What I can't stand is the complete lack of anything resembling power I guess I've been on hyperbikes too long, I've tried riding the smaller bikes, just can't do it anymore

I can't believe these fools and their mentality about handling...........especially the very last one, yeah...........more weight gives you better traction.........WTF? Maybe send them the Webster's definition of "centrifugal force" to help them get a clue!! If more weight improved traction, MotoGP bikes would be tippin' the scales at 700 pounds!! Stupiditiy at it's best right there.........It's more than ALMOST laughable, I just peed a little!!

The Kawasaki dealer owner in Thomasville Ga says the same thing, that his personal C14 will out handle any ZX in the curves.

It's all in the head no doubt....a 700lb , neutered shaft driven C-14 out handling a ZX-14 in the curves???
Fire the designers of the ZX-14 if so...lol Yes I am an engineer with 21 succesful years in the electrical power and maintenance industry I work in ...been into motorcycles of all kinds for over 30 years and this has to be the worst heresy ever thought of in any motorcycle forum yet.....forget the laws of physics involved...hahaha
Someone who claims such a thing needs to take his C-14 to a circuit track and show himself lap times ....
Maybe C-14 owners can start their own trend of touring track days....
Then get Valentino to sponsor a touring bike for the track...
As pirouettes go, I think it's quite a graceful one

I watched this vid several times and can not believe how that ST bike gets back up on it's wheels and actually attacks it's rider for trying to take that curve so fast! Looks like an angry wife or girlfriend. (No disrespect or disregard for the seriousness of it all.)

Lol, I've passed and left better than average R1 & gixxer riders on my ZX14..... Obviously they ride with sport tourers like gold wings and other baggers and never seen a real sport bike desapear in front of them in the twistees! that C14 would make one hell of a police bike thou!
